Nice Refund!

Turbo Tax makes filing your tax returns more bearable and simple for the non-tax professionals like most of us. It is a great product and I like the way it aims to get you as many deductions as you qualify for.
What's great about it: like the step-by-step process rather than forms
What's not so great: not detailed enough at times but provides links for more research

I have used Turbo Tax Deluxe for many years. However, a couple years ago we had a more complicated return so we took our information to an Accountant. (I don't believe Turbo Tax is capable of handling more complicated returns).
Turbo Tax walks you through a fairly structured process and doesn't allow you to go outside the box, so to speak. As someone who has worked with large systems, I understand why, but occasionally special forms are needed to be completed and they're not available. I understand Turbo Tax Deluxe is designed for your average tax return.
We returned to Turbo Tax in 2011 and again in 2012. We've been satisfied with the improvements Turbo Tax has made in its ease of operation and instructional format. Any time you can remove the extra steps when filling out forms or printing documents, and have the correct ones offered for you, it makes it more likely people will use the product. Takes some of the guess work out of the process.
At the end of the day the main goal is to save as much of our money as possible. And to do that, Turbo Tax will need to provide the most up to date information and instructions as possible.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions and easy to use
What's not so great: Concerned that not all forms or tax credits are available thru software.

Tax Preparation has never been easier.

I liked the feature that downloaded information from last year's return to save time and effort in re-entering the same information. Also, by doing so it enabled me to see my income and deductions from the prior year so that nothing was missed in preparing the new return. Turbo Tax walks the preparer through the preparation in logical steps and allows steps to be passed by in order to enter information at a later time. Also, the editing feature is helpful to change entered information when changes need to be made due to new or corrected information.
The final checks that are included provide a sense of comfort that the return has been properly prepared including a projection of the "risk of audit." Finally the filing itself is made easy whether the forms are printed for mailing or an e-file is used.

I've used Turbo Tax for years. Never had any problems, just love the ease of filing. Being an Advantage member lets me enjoy automatic renewal for each year's tax software with email alerts. Wonderful!!!!!

Turbo tax allows you to work on taxes at your own time. By signing off each time, you pick up where you left off. If you allow yourself a week, you only spend a few minutes each day. Filing is free and just a click with the mouse, not a harried trip to the post office.
What's great about it: carry over from 2011 return
