Quick and Easy

for income and deduction provide a checklist so the inofmration can be marked and input more directly. Takes time going through every section, especially when not neccessary.
What's great about it: import from last year makes most info easy to input, love the side by side comparisons, easy to flow through.
What's not so great: takes to long to whip through every income and deduction section. Maybe provide a checklist so I can just go through

Another smooth submission with TurboTax

Overall, TurboTax makes filing very simple. My only complaint is that if you are married, but living separately, you cannot file electronically. I'm not sure if that is a Federal/State law or a feature missing from TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easily loaded data available online
What's not so great: Unable to submit electronically

Love it FOREVER!!!

I have used this product for more years than I want to say. Even when I went to a CPA do do my taxes, I used this first. Did not have confidence in me, not the product. For the past several years I have gone with a great product and been very happy with the results.
What's great about it: Easy to use, friendly help, great information
What's not so great: Some items are too "tax-speak" for easy understanding

Simple but Not Educational

It seems Turbo Tax gets more and more "dumbed" down each year. Being of the generation that used to fill in the paper forms I can really appreciate the ease of use of tax return software, but I am feeling more and more disconnected to what effects my taxes with the simplicity in navigating the software each year. While the interview
is clear I don't have as good an understanding as to why the questions are asked and what effect the answers have on my taxes. I do my own taxes to try and understand each year how I will be effected next year.

What's great about it: Very simple to fill out. Nice interface
What's not so great: I use to learn a lot more about where my tax bill came from using older versions of Turbo Tax.

Review 2012 Tax Preparation

Easy to use, import W2's, direct deposit refunds, both federal & state income tax forms are linked and can be e-filed with email & text confirmations. Makes filing really easy.
What's great about it: ability to import W2, direct deposit refund to my checking acct

Overall I really like using TurboTax. I use it every year, so I can always compare differences between years.I don't forget items that way, only needing to add new items.
My only complaint is looking at potential forms only to find out at the end that I wasn't eligible. For example, I added insulation to my house in 2012, so I started the energy credit worksheet. At the end I learned that because I had new windows installed several years earlier I would receive no credit. I wish the help screen had said that this was a continuation of an older credit.

Pretty good

I've used this program for the past 8 years and am generally happy every time. The program is nicely laid out and the rebate counter at the top is refreshing when you see the numbers go from red (you owe money) to green. (If only you can make it green every time! ha ha)
I'd like it better if I could more easily navigate to specific areas of the tax forms without having to wade through the drill down approach to questions.
What's great about it: Nice walk-through - easy to use - handles imported data well
What's not so great: Not always easy to navigate to specific area of tax worksheets.
Pros: I had a baby
