Solid Tax Software

Solid software for doing taxes. Have been using it for years, and it seems to get better each time. No state tax to deal with, only federal, and I've been happy with it.

Turbo Tax does a great Job

I have used Turbo Tax for a good number of years and I love it.
It is extremely simple to use and being able to bring last years information in to the current year of filing is great. Sure cuts down on typing.

Good program

Turbotax has been a good program for many years. The Deluxe version is very adequate for my needs. I use the easy step by step option. It helps me remember all the details i need to include in the return.
the E-file method is very good also. and the refund via deposit to my checking account is also very fast and convenient
There was some confusion when I entered a cashed-in annuity and it treated it like it was an IRA that needed added non relevant details.

What's not so great: Too much detail needed on contributions(addresses etc). very time consuming.

Program worked well. Could not get updates after April 6, 2013 and could not download Montana state tax forms. Had to file manually. Not good.
What's great about it: Liked the step by step process
What's not so great: Updates failed and could not load Montana

Always a pleasure!

I ha e been using Turbotax for about 15 years. I tried one other vendor's product once but came back to Turbotax because of the relative ease in using this software. Being able to transfer the prior year's info to the current year is really a timesaver.
What's great about it: Easy to work with this program.
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to "zero" in on an error.

WHY NOT ACCEPT A FED RETURN FOR E-MAILING?

The e-mailing process needs some improvement. The Federal return can't be e-mailed if there are two IRS 2106/unreimbursed employee expense forms. Why the denial, the taxpayer's name is on both forms, and so is the employment setting so how can they be confused, if that's the reason for the denial?
Also, why a fee for e-filing a state return when not so for e-filing a federal return?
Also, the process nearly got fouled up when I asked just for e-filing the MD return and the screen somehow thought I was also e-filing both a federal and a MD return. That shouldn't have happened.
What's great about it: EASY ON E-FILING THE MD RETURN
What's not so great: DENIAL OF FEDERAL FORM FOR E-MAILING IF TWO 2106 FORMS
