Have Used Turbo Tax for years

Overall good program. I wish the software instructions made it very clear what versions of the files need to be saved in case of future changes (filing Amended return). It gets better every year but had big error with choosing the Wrong filing status in prior years due to the software urging me to change it. There can be drawn out divorces which prior versions did not ask about.
What's great about it: Inexpensive, Pretty Easy
What's not so great: Need to buy software if need to Amend, Harder for Software to find prior year files

Only way to get through all the forms

Best tax software I have found. Makes a lot of hard issues easy to get entered. I have used Turbo Tax since it first came out.
What's great about it: Easy to use and chouse how much help you need.
What's not so great: Going back requires you to go though all question to get to the input data.

Old Reliable

I've been using Turbotax forever now, from when it was MacInTax. Pretty straight forward for preparing most moderate long forms. Gets pretty vague trying to find out exactly what is deductible in a refi (not much), and I'd prefer to be able to get a quick link up to the actual IRS info, but it continues to be a pretty smooth affair. It did sort of break out the idea of joint tenants a tad, but you still do have to do the math unbid instead of it leading you through a bit of an endless loop with the other tenant. A little half baked there, between two banks and the other borrower. Another area that becomes pretty strange and formless are the energy upgrade credits. Just had to wing it a bit there. A little finger-bitey.
ItsDeductible is better, more compatible and faster than ever as a charity deductible helper. Great that you can prepare however many returns off of the one copy. Would have been nice to be able to have the opportunity at the end to copy/paste from my bank account info since the routing info was only listed for what I owed, but not the CA refund. If you tried to go back, it would just erase what you'd copied/pasted previously, so that was a loss. Minor.
Had a strange flag pop up that appears to be a bug in the 1099-DIV form, where it seemed to think I should have something in a space where there just wasn't anything. AFter I put zero in, it moved on, though remained flagged (not effecting the ultimate wrap up).
It is good that it has last year's side by side so you can catch omissions, as I almost biffed a couple substantial deductions by accident. It'd be nice if it'd flag those, but hey. Ya gotta pay attention.
What's great about it: Straight forward, thorough
What's not so great: No link to IRS info, No longer compatible with non-Intel Macs

Simple and Effective

I would definitely continue to recommend Turbo Tax to friends and family. I have used it for close to twenty years now and I can't say I have regretted any year. Keep up the good work, it seems like every year you guys either make it easier to use or I am just getting too familiar with your software.
What's great about it: Flexible it allows you to dive as deep or as shallow as you feel comfortable.
What's not so great: I would like it to not lose track of where you left off. On a couple of occasions it wanted to start from a new file.

Quick & Accurate Returns

With TurboTax, it makes filling easier and less hassle. It is user friendly. It does provide good guidance to new users.
What's great about it: User Friendly, Easy to Use, Provided a lot of helps
What's not so great: Doesn't provide the formal forms during review automatically. Need to manually pull out the forms yourself.
