Good product, easy enough to use, but thorough enough to make sure everything is covered.
What's great about it: thorough, concise
What's not so great: selling services

Taxes Done Easy!

Turbo Tax takes the headache out of doing your taxes. The software is very intuitive, and provides helpful advice and explanations along the way. Some sections provide more detailed directions than others, but in general, the program does a great job of telling you what forms you need to fill out each section, and where to find the information on those forms. Turbo Tax is also very good at pointing out deductions you may not realize you're eligible for, and provides detailed explanations as to why you may not be eligible for other deductions. This program takes a lot of the intimidation out of taxes for me, and I even find it enjoyable to track the total refund calculation that continuously updates as you enter new income & deduction information. Taxes fun? Well, maybe not fun, but it's close!
What's great about it: Identified every deduction possible
What's not so great: Some sections could be a little clearer in their directions.

It was very easy to use and move within the program to fill in information as it was compiled. It would be even better if it was web accessible to update on the fly.

What's not so great: The tax code

Nice program for a complicated Tax situation

As a first time user, my taxes were simple and straight forward, no problems encountered, When I did my fathers taxes it took 3 hours, not being familiar with the general rule vs simplified rule for determining taxable income from an annuity. Got it done, just needed more guidance than Turbo tax offered.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Tax code is still complicated, needed more help on pensions and annuities

making a stressful time into something good

Turbo Tax Deluxe was a pleasure to use. I also received some technical assistance from a Turbo Tax staff member. Both were easy to use and helpful. I have used Turbo Tax for many years and you should too.
What's great about it: easy to use, up to date, step by step instructions
What's not so great: not much

Great Experience without moving from the sofa

As long as you have the documentation, it's as easy as pie.
I made a typo in the amount of income-Fed vs State, and It told me my return would not be able to be e-filed, I went back and corrected it.

real life confusion

going through divorce, no divorce or separation agreement, two kids I can claim since she has no income, I can/will not claim here since she moved in with her boyfriend
Pick option to say we did not live together at top of choice of filing status.
picked head of household since claiming kids, not claiming her. Help did not explain that I can only select on item, could not select sub items on 3 and head of household and get it to submit returns.
What's great about it: normally straight forward for a decade
What's not so great: Not realistic for married going through divorces with kids
