Watch out for fees!

Bought the Turbo Tax Deluxe edition Federal and state returns. At the end of filling in all of the information for my state return I was asked if I wanted to e-file, I said yes. The screen then told me of the 19.99 fee for Turbo Tax to e-file my state return. What a bunch of junk. I proceeded and was then asked if I wanted to pay with credit card or have it deducted from my refund. Why not just take the ease of having it deducted from the refund! I was then told that option would cost me another 29.99! Fortunately I was able to go back and choose to pay with a credit card. I have been a faithful Turbo Tax user for the past decade. I was very upset by the hidden fees at the end this year!
What's great about it: Ease of use!
What's not so great: Hidden fees for e-filing

Cheaper than my CPA, just as accurate

Used turbotax for the first time this year. My wife and I file jointly. We made the same amount this year as last, but our return was bigger this year using turbotax than it was last year using our CPA. It was cheaper and easier to use turbotax, plus we didn't have to hand someone all our business. My wife already uses Neat Desk, so it was easy to transfer information over to turbotax. Looks like we'll be doing our own taxes from now on. BTW we used the deluxe version because we have lots of charitable deductions and it was still fairly simple.
What's great about it: Fast and relatively simple
What's not so great: Some questions or options are a bit ambiguous

How easy can it get!

I havebeen using TurboTax for 10 years and couldn't be more satisfied. It is simple and easy to use and the format just flows you through doing your taxes. The hardest thing about this program is gathering all the inforamtion that needs to be input. Great program. ould recommend to anyone.
What's great about it: Simple, easy to use.
What's not so great: Can't really think of any.

Every time I don't use TurboTax I wind up making big mistakes or missing out on refund money. TurboTax is the easiest to use of the products I've tried.
What's great about it: layout, format, amount of refund at top
What's not so great: long process, cost

I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FROM BEGINNING AND HAVE PREPARED MY TAXES AND MY CHILDREN'S TAXES AND FRIENDS FOR 18 YEARS. THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR THAT I HAVE HAD PROBLEM WITH TURBO TAX. ALSO LOCKED UP WHEN I ENTERED W-2 AND SAVED. I HAVE HOME AND BUSINESS AND IT LOOK UP TOO! THE PROGRAM SEEMS SLOWER ON WINDOWS XP.
ALSO COULD YOU MAKE NUMBERS AND LETTER BOLDER PRINT. YOU 2010 WAS MORE BOLD AND BETTER TO READ.
ALSO, YOU HAVE A TWO-YEAR COMPARISON AND TAX HISTORY FOR FEDERAL TAXES. WHAT CAN'T YOU FOR STATE ALSO. WHY CAN'T FEDERAL REAL ESTATE DEDUCTION AUTOMATICALLY BE PUT IN STATE TAXES.
What's great about it: LIKE PREVIEW PRINT TO CHOSE PAGES TO PRINT
What's not so great: SOFTWARE LOCKING UP AND HAVE TO END TASK

Great Way To File

I enjoy how the program imports the previous years data, and compares it to the current year. I wish there was a to skip straight to the standard deductions screen. Most of us who have been filing for years, now that even though we have property taxes, and mortgage interest, etc., it does not add up to enough to itemize. In my case I don't want to itemize even if my amounts are over say by $200 of what I would get by taking the standards. This is because it is worth it to me by losing a few dollars in a return to not have to worry about audits. Like I'm paying not to be audited.
What's great about it: Very complete Record Keeping and acuracy
What's not so great: No shortcut to using standard deductions

It's the bomb

I love TurboTax, it is user friendly, even for first time users. You can't go wrong when using this tool. It even helps identify deductions you may not realize you can take and a paid tax preparer never mentioned. This is my fifth year of using TurboTax and I will never go back to paying someone else to do my taxes. My married children ask me to do theirs just because of the knowledge I now have on what can and can't be counted on their taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and saves me lots of money
