Consistently Well Done

Maybe because I use this each year, it seems to become easier, but, sure enough it alerted me to changes in the CO state tax law that enabled me to take a deduction I hadn't in the past. I never would have found that on my own.
What's great about it: Fast, asked questions I might not have thought about

The only reason I continue to pay every year for turbo tax is because I can easily move last years info to this year. There are other free programs out there that are simple.

What's not so great: some of the free tax programs are just as good/easy

Have used TurbTax for years and really appreciate the import of info from preceding year and being able to compare both returns as I report the current return.
What's great about it: Advice on what to report as eligible expenses as a parent of a college student.
What's not so great: Still needed to read up on references given

Tax To The Max

Turbo Tax is improving every year. They seem to listen to user comments. The process is straight forward and not difficult. It is easy to go back and make necessary changes. I like the error checking but there could be a little better direction on filling in missing data in highlighted blocks. It worked well once I realized all I had to do was add the info into the block. Could use a little more clarification on what closing costs are deductible when refinancing a mortgage.
What's great about it: Step by step process is easy and quick. Help sections really did help.
What's not so great: Correcting errors needs clarification.
