Great software!

Overall, I was very pleased with the process. I appreciated the attention to small details, such as shading/highlighting the box that was currently active.
I'm not sure how to fix this, but entering non-cash contributions is a very painful process. Searching for the right entry always takes a long time, and very often, the donation item is not listed.
What's great about it: I really liked how the program walked me through the tax return process
What's not so great: Place charity organizations in alphabetical order

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and it is very simple.

I have been using turbotax for years. It is fast, efficient and very easy to use. Dont worry about missing something, the program asks all the questions.
What's great about it: All I have to do is answer questions
What's not so great: To many questions - covers everything though

TurboTax is excellent! It walked me through each step and gave detailed instructions and all the information that one needs. It asks questions and you can tell when it recaps at the end of a section and asks clarifying questions, that it is ensuring that it has all the information it needs to make sure that you are getting all of the deductions possible. I was leery about not going to a tax person to have my taxes done (this is my first experience) but was very happy. I am definitely a returning customer.

STATE TAX PROGRAM LACKING

Turbo Tax really needs to step up their programing when it comes to State taxes! I filed my feds electronically but need an extension for State and TT doesn't like that option AT ALL!!! Ever....this isn't the first year I've experienced the complete breakdown when filing Fed online and State via paper. The program stops flowing, the user is kicked to another page that's unrelated, you have to backtrack and search to figure out how to print the state copies.....its a mess. Same thing every year.
I honestly no longer have any faith TT completes the State forms correctly. I know my girlfriend's taxes got hammered last year bc Turbo Tax made errors on her State taxes bc she had lived and worked in two states, was heavily compensated via tips on her out-of-state job, had moving expenses, and three sets of W2s. It was complex but nothing to outrageous. She ended up getting audited in NC and hit with penalties bc I near as we could tell after talking to the NC Dept of Rev, Turbo Tax made a math error. It delayed her refund by almost a month, and cost her money.
Focus on the State returns! Its been a problem for at least 10 years and not getting better. I just wasted an hour searching your web site for my STATE returns and printing a copy after printing the extension notice.
What's great about it: transfers fed data
What's not so great: software always has glitches

Quick & Easy

I've been using turbo tax for 8 years and I really enjoy the product. My only beef is that there's always another fee, it's not straight forward; there's always a charge for State e-file and I never remember year after year.
