Good, but can be improved

1. When emailed that forms were ready, instructions on how to update software should be included in the email (such as do not have installation cd in drive) so that people can do this and not get frustrated. A lot of people had trouble with this.
2. Didn't like how I was urged to download state program from Turbotax, but then at end told that I didn't need to file with the state. I paid already, and now have to figure out how to get that money back.
What's great about it: Helped simplify forms. Explanations and links helped understanding.
What's not so great: Emails did not inform how to update software

I have worked with several different tax software packages and turbo tax is by far the most user friendly and understandable. I have suggested to friends and relatives that have never done their taxes, to try it. In every case they have been successful in completing their taxes without paying an outside agent.
What's great about it: How you are walked thru the deductions.
What's not so great: none

I have been using Turbo Tax for so long that I cannot remember doing them any other way. I tell all my friends and family that it is the only way to do our taxes.

As far as doing taxes, this makes it less painful.

Goes step by step, lists possible deductions so you don't miss any. Lets you e-file or mail file so you get the choice.
What's great about it: easy
What's not so great: some explanations were not clear

I always feel confident with TurboTax that my return will be filed accurately and without errors. Have been using it for years.
What's great about it: Simple and easy to use.
What's not so great: Wish you could look up charities either by name or FIN.

Comprehensive product. Easy-step helpful

Overall would recommend TurboTax to others. Have used it for over a decade. Pros far outweigh the cons. Always prefer using Easy-Step to help remind me of tax areas I need to consider. Like the context-sensitive help to let me explore and more fully understand areas of the tax code that affect me and my return.
Have never been able to import tax-exempt fund interest due to the need to split this interest into home state and all others interest. But have gotten used to this and know how to handle it each year.
What's great about it: Easy-step has helpful guidance and reminds me of tax areas to be considered
What's not so great: Unable to import tax-exempt fund interest due to need to split into home state and other states interest

Complicated Itemized Deductions

"Its deductible" should have entries for:
1. donations such as food and health items to the shelters
2. Meals donated to these shelters.
