HELD MY HAND every step of the way!!

Turbo Tax is the greatest product ever! I've used it for years and have never had a single problem. It takes you from start to finish in a few easy steps, and takes the guess work out of complicated federal and state tax laws. I no longer have to be concerned with keeping up with new changes because Turbo Tax does that for me. With Turbo Tax I am confidant that my tax forms are completed accurately each year.

Good not great

Missed depreciation on oil royalties; did not prompt me for it; I had to know about it in order to get it.
Took me a while to figure out how to edit and look at the ongoing return.
It is awful that you charge to e-file state return. Boo hiss on that one.
What's great about it: Walked thru each step; nice printout
What's not so great: Difficult for me to navigate; payment for state filing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy as Always

Overall, Turbo Tax has helped me manage my tax returns the past few years, with the history actually helping the process. Without significant changes from year to year, I actually spend more time collecting my documents than I do completing my return.
What's great about it: Simple, questions-based interviews to complete returns
What's not so great: Some work to figure out more complex situations

Gets the job done

Overall, a good experience with Turbo Tax. I have been using the product for several years and have gotten used to it as well as how to do my taxes. If there was one thing I wish it had more of, that is more detail on specific topics when using EasyGuide. For example, investment losses, auto registration fees, or some of the more uncommon tax situations. These more or less uncommon areas I feel should have more detail, not less. Usually, you need to go out and search the Internet or wade through forums for detail needed to enter the info.
What's great about it: Guidance, ease of use
What's not so great: Level of detail on help when needed.

A great tax return for a reasonable price. And you do not have to be a CPA to use it.
What's great about it: Fast, accurate, easy to use.
What's not so great: Printing is more difficult than prior years.

Getting better

I found it easier to enter & check my information.
It still baffles me why you try to take me through area that are not applicable. For example right up front you ask if I need to file a state return after I indicate all of my income is coming from Washington state which has no state income tax. Even after answering both of those questions after I finish my federal tax return you try to sell me turbo tax for a state return. WHY?
Another example is indicating that I have no dependents and you make me answer questions about child care deductions.
What's great about it: It is easier to find area that affect me.
What's not so great: Still don't apply what you know about me to the walk through steps.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
