Works Great

There were lots of questions because I went through everything! But, overall, it was a really good experience and I used a private tax preparer last year, and I ended up owing. I used Turbo Tax this year, did it myself and got a refund. I highly recommend this product.
What's great about it: Easy, Fast, Bigger Refund

The easy way

This is so easy to use and manage your itemized deductions all year! So simple I will not use anything else. The way it merges the State taxes is awsome, it used to take me hours to figure it out manually.
What's great about it: Awesome program to use step by step questions. Very easy process.
What's not so great: none!

What's not so great: not completely friendly on the deductions. i.e job hunting expenses

Turbo Tax TOO COMPLICATED for RDP's

Very disappointed in the complexity of filing a Gay Married return for Federal and State.
What's great about it: Calculates everything and step by step process
What's not so great: Not set up for RDP's Stinks for RDP's

Great Tax filing Program

I have used TurboTax for a number of years and found the program to be very useful and accurate. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to file their own returns, both State and Federal.
What's great about it: Very thorough, well done!!
What's not so great: In the more difficult tax situations, directions could be a little more specific.

Turbo Tax and Me

Having a software application that applies the tax rules with consistency is important to every taxpayer. Most people cannot afford a CPA who is trained in tax law to evaluate their income and deductions. Then these people depend on so called experts that took a short class on how to do taxes.
These companies that process taxes for you inflate their prices by charging for every form, or they prey on the financially challenged by charging more to prepare their tax returns early in the tax season. When it boils down to it these companies are using a home grown version of Turbo Tax which may or may not be as complete.
I have used Turbo Tax software for nearly 10 years. My experience has been to complete my taxes with confidence that every question was asked me so I didn't forget something to report or a deduction I may be entitled to. I like the way the tool leads me through my return. There is also a feature that allows me to go my own way and review or update something that may have been overlooked or feel should be different. I have never had any problems with tax returns I have submitted using Turbo Tax. I was pleased to get information that notified me my return was submitted, accepted and is being processed.
I also enjoyed the benefit of taking ownership of this responsibility. I was empowered to be in control of my tax documents instead of intimidated by my lack of knowledge and understanding about something so important.

What's great about it: Pulling in prior tax years information. Tax updates to the laws are applied. Reviews.
What's not so great: I didn't like having to enter the address information for the spouse, it should be the same if Married-jointly.

Quick & Easy

I love the fact that TurboTax pulls all my info from last year. I can then compare to this year and see if anything is way off, then I know I missed something.
