The Best!

I get the service of a Tax Consultant for free and in much less time. Sometimes its too nit-picky but if its trying to increase your return that is no con to me. I have been using TurboTax for years now, and it truely takes all the stress and anxiety out of filing. If you could only let me e-file my state and local returns for free...

Easiest appoach to filing your taxes

I can't remember when I haven't turned to turbo tax to fill in my taxes. Today was no different - but what was different is that it gets easier every year. Turbo tax pulls in past years work so you only have to focus on changes in information - for me that was nothing and took no time. It leads you through everything in an easy to follow way - with details, explanations and help at your finger tips if you need it. I can't say enough positive things about using turbo tax to prepare my taxes (Federal and State). I would be lost without it.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax makes filing your taxes quick and easy
What's not so great: Having to file taxes - but that isn't the fault of Turbo Tax

I have been a long time TurboTax user since my first job, my first house purchase, and now getting into investments. Getting a little "complicated" so I think I have outgrew TurboTax and thinking of getting an accountant soon. But I really appreciate the software and all that it has to offer.
What's great about it: easy questions to help filling
What's not so great: anything more than a simple filling, would recommend accountant

Pulls it all together

I really like that TT can pull together information - W2, quicken, itsdeductible. Make it much easier (I still re-check the numbers, just to be safe).
The ability to switch between interview and browse entry is a plus. I usually go through the interview just to hit all of the possibilities, but I have a few things that are easier just to jump to a specific form or topic.
The downside (with any tax prep software) is that you can bury yourself in tax details. Still much, much better than reading through IRS documents.
What's great about it: Imports W2's, Quicken, ItsDeductible
What's not so great: can still get stuck in the tax details

I like using TurboTax as it is very easy to use, and very helpful. Almost all questions are answered in the program.
What's great about it: The program is very thorough, very fast, very helpful.
What's not so great: Cost of the additional state. Confusing with purchasing turbo tax on line or in store.

Finally done!

This is much easier than doing them by hand (which I did for a number of years,) but I would like actual links to IRS instructions when Turbo tax finds a problem with something. I don't always understand what is being requested. Also, a question like "do you have a form W-2" would be useful instead of the massive quiz about why this information is not there--retirees do not have them so they are a waste of time. (I actually do have kids, but all are in their 40s, not living with us.)
What's great about it: Quite easy to use.
What's not so great: Not so many questions about form W-2 for retirees who don't have them.
