Overall a good product

I've used TurboTax several times throughout the years, and it has always worked well for me. Granted, my return is a fairly simple one, but I think it would work equally well for a more complex one too, and it's generally cheaper than going through other tax preparation services. For example, you aren't charged for every single piece of paper or form you need filled out. And with a computer program doing the calculations and such for you, you remove the human error factor, except if you enter something incorrectly. You always have a chance to double check though, and go back and edit things if you need to. You shouldn't miss any possible deductions with this either. It walks you through them all, step by step. It's fairly straightforward and easy to use. I do recommend this product to others.
What's great about it: Like how it walks you through step by step and does try to get you every deduction possible.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.

No worries, mate

We've been using TurboTax for YEARS and it gets better every time. Because of our occupations, we both have unusual tax issues that are not faced by many people. Still Turbo Tax asks the right questions, has the answers, fills in the forms, and makes it really simple to do everything including my estimated taxes for the coming year. I like being able to jump back in if either of us have overlooked something like a deduction or expense. The review process at the end tells me if there's anything questionable and seems to always know what to do to make it right. If you can develop the discipline to save your receipts and other forms so they are available when you sit down in front of the program, this is a snap. I really recommend TurboTax.
What's great about it: Handles even unusual issues
What's not so great: hasn't figured out how I can avoid paying anything!

Overall positive experience. Was very happy with service until the extra charge for 2nd state. If there is an Add'l charge, it should have been a lot less. That charge doubled the cost , and it is just taking info already entered for Fed & 1st state.
What's great about it: Good instructions
What's not so great: Had to pay extra for 2nd state return-should have been included

I have used this program since 2007 and couldn't be happier. I have fairly simple taxes, and am pretty mathematically-minded. However, just looking at a tax return form makes me cringe, since I am always worried about making a crucial mistake in calculations. Turbo Tax simplifies by asking for any and all monetary information then applies that to the appropriate lines on the return forms.
What's great about it: thorough questions make it easy to input information onto the correct lines for tax forms.
What's not so great: it helps if you have used turbo tax before to refer to prior year's information
