Great program

I have been using Turbo Tax for years, it is convenient and has guided me through good tax years and bad tax years. I haven't had a single complaint.

Smooth preparation

Just this improvement: Last year i tried ERefund but it was rejected by IRS. TurboTax generated a PDF Postmark Report but there was no description of why it was rejected. This is probably not TurboTax's fault but it would help to know the cause of the rejection if it is available.

So Easy!

I've used TurboTax for the past few years for my own taxes, and filed my fiance's taxes for the past couple years. Always easy and never too complicated, able to fly through each section with easily understood questions from TurboTax and clear options to choose from. Will continue to use TurboTax as long as it's around!

What's great about it: Easy to follow guide and help options for every section/form
What's not so great: New homeowner and did not find information needed on filing with "substitute" forms
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Fairly Quick and Easy

Overall, very happy with the software. Had a few issues navigating through the program and trouble finding out answers to questions I had or questions that the software asked. But, I suppose you can't make it perfect for all of us dummies out there.
What's great about it: Very good step by step procedures!
What's not so great: Some items are confusing and not clearly defined for us non-tax dummies.

Good, with some puzzlements

My taxes aren't TOO tough, but they're tough enough that I appreciate the walk-through that TT supplies. I find that I don't forget things, which I do when I do them myself on paper forms or even when I bring them to an accountant: TT prompts me for what it needs to fill in the blanks.
The prompting questions are usually pretty good. They get a little arcane and confusing for the more arcane and confusing stuff, like what to do with K-1s. There are places where TT will let you fill out and even send in forms even though they're not needed. My kid made just over the federal threshold income, which I didn't know until after I'd filled out the education expense info. After I changed the dependent status, it still kept the education-expense related forms in the package. And it was hard to remove them; I had to pretend my kid was a dependent again, delete the form, then de-dependent her again. TT calculated the taxes right, so no change to the tax bottom line, but that shouldn't happen, imho.
It also doesn't quite handle information transfers to my state's state tax form right. There were a couple of places that needed adjusting, particularly where the state and federal treat something differently (e.g., slightly different definitions of "dependent").
But those things were fixable, and not big issues even if they hadn't been. Overall, I like having the insight into the tax laws and my income that using TT provides. I'll be using it again.
What's great about it: Fairly easy, even for a fairly complex tax year
What's not so great: A couple of places where items don't update or transfer quite right

Love it!

Love Turbo Tax. I can do my taxes myself but I have to go to the library or find the forms online and print them out. Turbo Tax asks you questions, you answer, and boom it gives you the number. It seems like the Deluxe version went up a bit this year, but still worth the it because of how it easy and quick it is. Did my taxes in 45 minutes. Bam! Can't beat that. Will be buying it again next year!
