Doing My Taxes Only Took an Hour!
on February 11, 2013

I am recently divorced, so this is the first time I've filed my taxes in 15 years. Turbotax made it so easy, I can't understand why my ex paid an accountant all those years.
What's great about it: Self-explanatory, easy, fast, simple.

Mostly, I like turbo Tax because I do not have to share my personal financial info with others. Also, it is very comprehensive in the topics and items covered so that no " stone goes unturned" when looking for deductions and income sources!
What's great about it: Very quick and accurate
What's not so great: Need to be able to go to specific items without hitting "back" multiple times
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Telephone help

Last year, I was able to call and get help from a tax advisor which I did once and it was extremely helpful. I saw nothing like that this year.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: No telephone help as last year.

Generally Well Done

I cannot explain just why but the amount of my 2011 State of Wisconsin Income Tax Refund was incorrectly imported. I'm so used to imports being correct that I didn't catch it until a final review.
I'm still working on accounts establishing my categories in Quicken so that a Quicken Category report will show me figures that agree with each figure entered on the 1040 and especially schedule A. That has been an ongoing quest and I'm getting closer but it's not been a real easy task to get exactly correct.
What's great about it: Detail step by step completion
What's not so great: Results from importing from 2011 & Quicken inconsistent

Total Frustration
on February 11, 2013

Believe you had a software problem in the Int/Div reporting section. I entered data exactly as it appeared on Form 1099-DIV in the correct boxes as instructed. When doing the Error Check, TurboTax would not allow me to proceed until I corrected entry errors. I followed the instructions but it kept showing errors existed and had to be corrected. This was very frustrating and I saw where other customers were experiencing the same problem. I followed one customer's suggestions and was then able to finish my return.
What's great about it: Was pleased with prior years TurboTax but you let me down this year.
What's not so great: Spent several hours trying to finish Return but your "Error Check" prevented me from doing so.
