Great News!

Following the steps and with the experience of previous years, it has been relatively simple to prepare the returns for this year.
What's great about it: Each year it becomes easier and easier to go through Turbotax and prepare returns.
What's not so great: One form for oil rebate not available on turbotax IT-241

Quick & Easy

A little disconserting with continuous instistance with completion of state tax return when Florida doesn't have a state tax. Undermines confidence in the software. Program should have been aware of which states did not have state taxes.
Also, software did not allow for provision to apply the refund to my current year taxes. Could not efile because of this..

What's great about it: Good dealing with variety of retirement issues
What's not so great: Probably more sophisticated than my need.

Use TurboTax - it's fun and empowering!!

I've used Turbotax for many years and really like the changes. It's great that it serves as a reminder to what you had in the prior year and asks you if you have it again this year. If you don't, it just removes it from your return. I like that I can start it one day and finish it another and be on my own schedule.
What's great about it: Can complete it on your own time and do 'what-if' scenarioes
What's not so great: It's annoying to have to go back through many screens and not be able to jump around and get back more readily

Smoothe as the Moneyway

TurboTax has always made the process easier than doing it by hand and less expensive than paying someone else to do my taxes for me (I have been there and done that), but year's application was the best yet.
What's great about it: Was user friendly and the explanations were detailed and clear.
What's not so great: Wish the updates for state and federal could be done up front at the sametime.

I've used TurboTax for years and it's the best way I know to file my taxes.
What's great about it: I trust TurboTax to ask the right questions so that I cover all the topics, not just what I remember or know about.
What's not so great: It's taxes, after all!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

So Easy for a Non-Mathematician

I used to spend hours poring over my 1040 forms back when I had absolutely nothing to deduct. It should have been easy, but for some reason the US Government makes tax returns based on an IQ of 175 and a status of GIFTED in Mathematics and Tax Returns.
Since I am in neither of these categories, I am so thankful for Turbo Tax. I don't know how "they" expect John Q. Citizen to be able to do it alone.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, step-by-step
What's not so great: It charged me to e-file!

This is my third year using this tool and I can not imagine fulfilling my responsibilities as a tax paying citizen any other way.
What's great about it: The interview method is some much more intuitive than the government documents
