I like that turbo tax reviews your tax report for errors, unfortunately, I do not like all the fees that I have to pay. I feel once you paid for the product then everything else should be free. I shouldn't have to pay for several items like, paying to file an extra state return that should be automatic and also paying for e-filing seeing that we don't get our tax refunds any faster than if we sent off a paper file. I know that a business has to make money but if I am going to spend all this money on taxes that I am preparing myself I would just rather go to a tax consultant and have them do it for me. That way if I have a problem with my taxes I can call them right away and have my questions answered. This will be the last time I will be using turbo tax. Thanks, but no thanks!!!
What's great about it: errors review is great
What's not so great: to many fees

I've used Turbo Tax for years. Last year I tried the H&R Block software. I did not like it and this year I am back with Turbo Tax again and plan to keep on a trucking with Turbo Tax year after year! I've worked at H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt and I still used Turbo Tax and have taught others to use it too.
What's great about it: Like it so much better tahn other
What's not so great: No cons

Overall Very Good!

For some reason in 2012, TurboTax reported: 'You cannot e-file this year because you have an HSA distribution with no contribution in Part I. The good news, you can print your tax forms and mail them in (that's good news?).' I'm retired and therefore no longer eligible to contribute to our HSA, though I can take distributions from my HSA account built up while I was employed. Other users have run into this issue, though it did not arise in prior tax years. I don't know the "issue" lies with TurboTax or the IRS.
What's great about it: I've used TurboTax for many years, always very helpful.
What's not so great: Issue with Form 8889 preventing e-filing, IN ERROR. See review.

This product has been unbearable this tax season. Initially, the software was always looking for Federal updates, and it would sit there for hours looking for these "updates" with no success. I finally went to the TT website for a manual download of the updates, and they took. Now, the state is doing the same thing, but there's no manual download available for state updates. I've been trying for weeks now to file a simple return. I ended up going to the IRS website to file my state taxes on my own.
