Great Software

I have used Turbo Tax for 3 years and it keeps getting easier to do my taxes!
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: Price
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Why pay an accountant when you can be walkekd through a step by step process and get the same result? I've been a TurboTax user for many years and am always amazed how simple they make it. I no longer dread doing my taxes!
What's great about it: Easy, fast, dummy proof
What's not so great: No cons!

i love how easy it is to file my taxes since the software steps me thru the process. I don't like the extras that are offered thru out the process

Best Software ever

I have done returns by hand and have used other systems. Turbo Tax is by far the best system. it handles the most complex issues in a manner that is easy to understand and provides the information in as a complete manner as desired. i do not worry about latent errors!
What's great about it: Addresses the most complex issues in an understandable manner
What's not so great: Sometimes hadr to figure out where things come from

Regaring the need to check for updates. IF its necessary to check for an update in order to complete the filing, you should be instructed so then, and not when your ready to push the final button to submit your filing.
What's great about it: importing from last years report
What's not so great: constant need to check for updates when completely unnecessary
