Outstanding Product, Consistently Accurate

I have been a Turbo-Tax user since the mid 1990's and have never been disappointed. Excellent helps, accurate calculations and easy to follow instructions. I would recommend TT to everyone.
What's great about it: Easy to use but detailed enough to handle most tax preparation questions

1040 is not perfect

Turbotax 2012 FAILED to try to eliminate a $2000.00+ Estimated Tax penalty. I had uneven income during the year with most of the income coming in the last month. I had to manually go through the forms, Form 2010 in paticular, and do it myself. I eliminated the entire penalty. Turborax 2012 never even asked and wanted me to file with the penalty included.
What's great about it: Step by step is easier this year
What's not so great: Turbotax FAILED to save $$ for Estimated tax penalty

Problems with MA return

I had problems with getting the deduction on my Mass state return for Mass retirement contributions calculated correctly. The Code is Y on my W-2 which is what I entered. But that does not properly give me the deduction. I needed to use the dropdown box for Mass retirement contributions. Turbotax needs to flag that, very easy mistake to make

Easy to use, affordable, not overwhelming info, simple terms with down to earth explanations. The questions along the sides posted by other users very helpful also.
What's great about it: mostly userfriendly, small chunks of info at a time
What's not so great: had trouble with payment at end

It gets easier each year

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. It seems to get easier each year. It is great to have financial information imported from the partners; it takes away some of the guesswork.
What's great about it: easy to follow, easy to navigate, importating information saves time.
What's not so great: charges for state e-file

Easy guide good

On the completed deductions form under taxes, when I clicked on Other Taxes (I think this is the item), it did not give me any information as to where the taxes came from. Finally, it dawned on me that this might be the taxes which were withheld - it was.
What's great about it: Most of the information is easy to follow - asks good questions for me.
What's not so great: Sometimes I don't understand what is being asked and clicking on the item doesn't help.
