Excellent as always!

Every year for the last 6 years I've purchased and used Turbotax for my tax filing, both state and federal. Every year they've given me the easiest, fastest route to filing that I can imagine. I've never had a problem with the software, nor with the filing. Everything works smoothly and quickly, and it keeps me up to date how I want, not how it thinks I want (e.g. asking me for updates, checking every box before I move on, etc.) I'll definitely be buying this next year and for the forseeable future!
What's great about it: Quick, easy, imported everything from last year and new info from this year
What's not so great: I do miss the free e-file, but that's livable :)

Another Great Year

I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 15 years. I will never use a different program because of the confidence that I have that my returns will be done correct and complete. The help features are also very user friendly. I have always enjoyed being able to do my whole families returns. The e-filing feature is great.
What's great about it: Once again, Turbo Tax walked me right through a great return. I like that the error check shows me what I've missed.
What's not so great: Program did not work with my touch screen computer. Had to tab and page down.

Very smooth refund

My taxes filing (federal and state) went very smoothly so I cannot complain at all. The software took me step by step and I was worry since it was my first time to file as married, but the software took everything in account. I had at the begining an issue with the CD installation, but the techincal support was excellent. Hope I will the same experience next year.
What's great about it: straight forward, ask all the questions clearly, and all my document were suggested at one point or another. was great.
What's not so great: Issue with CD installation. State taxe e-file not included (only via mail included)

What a difference a double-check makes!

I made a mistake that took a while to figure out. I clicked CO instead of CA and the "help instructions" were no help. Turned a huge tax payment with penalty into a refund. Also, I had trouble finding the dues deduction but it pays to be tedious on TurboTax.
The big payoff was, again being tedious, and discovering that my legal fees were deductible. Another find was I did not qualify for the first time home buyer credit I did not file for. However, I probably would have figured this out on my own. The charitable deductions values made the calculations a breeze.

What's great about it: Found a huge deduction I would not have thought of.

Making taxes not as scary

My sister and I started a business/partnership and I was worried with everything how the personal and business sides would mix. We were going to hire a tax professional, but my sister talked me into using Turbo Tax. I had to buy Turbo Tax Deluxe and Turbo Tax Business in order to do all the required forms. Also had to get the State Form for the Business. It would of been nice to not buy multiple products, but it worked out ok. I was able to complete all taxes. I like how Turbo Tax gives you more info if you need it and double checks your entries. Great product.
What's great about it: I did it!

I find this product very easy to use. The tutorials, suggestions, and help files provide quick and easy to understand descriptions about a subject to determine if it applies to you.
The fact that is saves the information from a prior year and automatically loads it in for you and provides year to year comparisons is outstanding. Printing, reviewing, error checking, and submitting are straight forward and intuitive.
The instant status at the top of program is fun to watch the impact that deductions have on your overall tax liability.

IRS help has gone, over the past several years, from reasonably good to reasonably non-existent. It then becomes necessary for TurboTax to fill the void. It is not. Explanations within the program are terse, sketchy, and of little use. This should be fixed; instead, it has been reported that Intuit has been lobbying against programs to make filing simple and cheap. Not having it both ways is o.k., but not having it either way for the taxpayer is a poor concept and, eventually, bad public relations.
What's great about it: Easy Step process is relatively easy
What's not so great: Supporting information is often insufficient.
