Easy and foolproof (but not idiot proof)

I've been using TurboTax for 10+ years and each year it gets easier. Love the ability to import data from banks, brokers, etc. and It'sDeductible which I use to keep track of contributions throughout the year.
What's great about it: Guides you each step of the way and has excellent links to get answers to questions.
What's not so great: No significant cons.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The TurboTax software and experience are simply worth every penny - I have tried others and they simply don't stack up. Would cost me even more to have "people" do my taxes. Why bother when you spend more time downloading the software and filling out reviews after the fact than actually entering the data - LOVE the import function and year to year comparisons.
What's great about it: Fast, Simple to Use - NEVER have any issues
What's not so great: Having an IRS... really just flat tax us and get over all this nonsense already

Life Saver - Changer

This software makes the dreaded tax filing process a welcome breeze. It takes one step by step, yet still offers the option to move at a quicker pace in certain places. The "posted refund amount" at the top acts as a motivator to keep one going.
The one recommendation I have is to allow the filer to know approximately where s/he is through the process. Perhaps an illustrative gauge in a corner someplace that might indicate if one is 20% or 90% complete.
I used to prepare my own taxes by hand and always dreaded the night dash to the local library for a particular publication - to make sure I understood something correctly. No need to worry about that anymore ! Thank you!

What's great about it: Clear and concise directions, step by step approach, so much easier than reading the 1040 publication
What's not so great: very few if any

E-Filing Encouraged by Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and have found it to be the easiest to use. I normally file a paper copy. this year when I tried to print it out, Turbo Tax made it difficult so I E-filed for the first time for both Federal and state. There was no charge for the Ferderal return but there was for the state.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Carry over from previous years, Relatively complete
What's not so great: Paper filing made difficult, Energy credit not clear, charge for state filing

Easy-PEZ

Was a quick adn easy tac return. some of the questions seemed a little silly, i.e. did my 1-year old provide income to the household? Uhm, no. I think there are some that could be filled in with suggested answers where it makes sense. Overall quick and easy. Just wish my state refund was larger ;-)
What's great about it: Easy, understandable, additional info on demand
What's not so great: redundancy
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo 2012 is even easier than last year. Love that it automatically imports data from previous tax year into your current filing.

I've used Turbotax and itsDeductible for many years and they never let me down. Questions are answered whenever I have them. I also like that last year's information automatically populates the current year's return. It saves alot of time. And it's software I feel I can trust.

very helpful for Roth conversion and itemized deduction. Also for K-1 entries. Particularly helpful when all brokerage accounts could be directly imported from brokerage firms, Thanks.
