Easy as pie

I can't believe how easy taxes were to do this time around! Turbo Tax just seems to get better and better every year. I'm not a tax specialist, nor an accountant; so I do get a little nervous doing taxes on my own. But whoever designed this Turbo Tax program did so for people like me. I felt like I had a team of tax professionals at my easy disposal every step of the way, holding my hand, guiding me through every step. The language of the program is inviting and so user-friendly! And any time I had a question, there were ready answers at the click of a button. Wow! What could have been an awful experience (doing taxes) was actually quite fun and easy! Thank you, Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Taxes this year were a snap!
What's not so great: Can't think of any

I still encounter unnecessary printing. I only wanted to print the necessary forms for the state return. I still got 6 pages of worksheets that i did not need to file and more wasted paper. Come on, we really need to get away from the mindless printing of redundant items. I carefully selected only the returns but got the worksheets regardless.
What's great about it: I have been using your product for 10 years and would not go elsewhere.

Face Your Angst! It's doable with TurboTax

Short of a few institutions that didn't send their 1099's I got through this Tax season thanks to TurboTax. I simply went online and printed the 1099's I didn't get.
What's great about it: TurboTax anticipates all your needs.

I have been using this tax program, TurboTax, for almost a decade. I have always found it to be really helpful with nice graphics on the user interface. However, I think there has been some recentimprovements in the On Demand Tax guidance pop up window with the renaming of the two options available under the "Help More" button. It may be simply a matter of semantics but I work with new applications quire frequently and one of the biggest compliants I hear is the terminology within an application does not allows translate to the end user. In the case of Turbo Tax, the user audience has a very broad and variable education and skill level.
The one complaint I do have is the program confirmed I did not have to file state taxes based on the local of my main residence; however, just a few steps later asked me to start my state income tax return. I would suggest fixing this glitch as I had to click the "back" button a few times to confirm what the program had already verified.

I am a very satisfied and loyal customer of TurboTax and have been using your program for a long time with no plans for switching in the near future.
What's great about it: Quick easy to read quidance. Love the pop up windows with extra information.
What's not so great: Circular questions in the last part of the program. See review below.

More Help Needed

This year we had to pay a larger than usual amount to the Federal government due to one spouse being retired and the other earning income. I did not find TurboTax as friendly as usual when it came to trying to find out if it is better to file joint or separate without going through the entire process of entering 3 different returns.
What's great about it: TurboTax is generally easy to follow
What's not so great: Not enough assistance with filing status

I've used Turbo Tax for about 5 years. After being self employed one year I could no longer use the simple forms, so I tried it out at the recommendation of a family member. Most years since, some new tax situation would come up for me that seemed complicated. Each time, Turbo Tax easily handled whatever it was. Economic Stimulus years, home purchase, marriage, etc. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.
The information and suggestions in the online community for Turbo Tax are also very helpful. I frequently refer to that to research questions or confirm something is being handled correctly regarding my return.
What's great about it: Super easy to use, less buggy then years back,
What's not so great: Too many updates, forcing updates during filing is stressful

I have been using Turbo Tax about 10 or more years and find it easier every year, except when it came to printing and filing at the end. It can be solved but earlier versions were simpler.
I will however continue to use this system again and again.

OVERALL GOOD EXPERIENCE. WISH STATE E-FILE WAS FREE IT SHOULD BE!
