FILING RETURN WAS FAIRLY EASY

OVERALL IT WAS EXTREMELY EASY, THE ONLY AREA I HAD A ISSUE WAS DOWNLOADING THE UPDATES. OVERALL A GOOD EXPERIENCE SO FAR.
What's great about it: IT WAS EASY
What's not so great: PROBLEM DOWNLOADING NEW FORMS/UPDATES

Easy Tax Prep and File

Long time user of Turbo Tax and I am happy with it. Was hoping I would get help with figuring my quarterly payments for 2013 since I am retired now and my income will be pension and Social Security, only.
What's great about it: Asked All the Questions.
What's not so great: Next year will be Pension and Social Security only. Hoped I would get better feedback on quarterly payments for 2013..
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy and Fast

The program guides you through all the right questions, quickly with explanations when and where needed. As a former tax accountant, I would use Turbo Tax to prepare client's returns, if I was still in that business.
What's great about it: Easy to use, even for a former tax accountant
What's not so great: Could be less expensive

The only issue that I found was that when we entered in our W2 information, the 12D info was in box 12B and it caused a hugh discrepancy when we chose b on the drop down. It would have been nice for the program to ask us if this was really what we wanted since we didn't have this on the 2011 information.

I have used turbotax for years. The "update all" button on the federal taxes didn't work-you still had to visit each category separately. I wished that the help/questions section had more answers to questions. There were many unanswered questions.
Also, the screen for life changes/check boxes of changes was gone this year. I thought that was a helpful tool when you first started the taxes.

Swallowing a purge!

It is an excellent program but for a self employed individual who has hours of fiing and detailing to achieve, you should immediately shake a red flag in front of the incomplete entry instead of imposing on us to go back and look endlessly for the error often very hard to spot.
What's great about it: Thorough, fast courteous
What's not so great: Cryptic terminology at times, hard to come back to what we need to review.
