Peace of mind

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and am totally satisfied! I always get the maximum refund that is owed to me. It is also so easy to navigate - and helps people like me understand everything! They have you covered and will make sure everything is accurate. Highly recommended!

Laborious but useful in the end

In general it is a good program but it is often confusing in that it does not always follows the IRS forms format (asks a lot of questions - too many unnecessary sometimes). In the IRS schedule C for example, the reported income does not separate the regular income from that reported on 1099-MISC.
TT actually does this which at first caused me to enter the 1099 amounts twice!
Also the K-1 reporting should not be so complicated and should handle Box 1 and 2 on the same form (as it is on the actual K-1)
In general, we are very satisfy with TurboTax and the convenience of e-filing.

What's great about it: You do not have to do the calculations yourself
What's not so great: You better double check them!

Overall pretty good

Overall this tax prep software is decent. It guides you through the process step by step, and the on screen instructions are easy to follow. It also helps you make sure you get all the deductions you can.
I feel like the only weak point is when you try to do things out of sequence. For example, if you want to complete one section later (but move on to others in the meantime), it can be a bit confusing to find your way back to the section you didn't yet complete.
What's great about it: Makes tax prep process easy
What's not so great: User interface can be a little bit clunky

I have used TurboTax for the past five years and find it easy to use and understand. Every year you use this program, it uses that past year to set up a frame work for the current year. This is very helpful to make sure don't forget anything.

Fairly Painless

This is the 9th year that I have used Turbo Tax Deluxe and it is fine for a general family completion of 1040 and state forms. If you have lots of complicated investments (sales and buys) or medium large personal business would recommend either another level of Turbo Tax or a Tax professional. Since I have used it in the past it is easy to get started as all the info is pulled from previous years. What I did not like in this years version was that any time you went back to a section, even if you had completed, it it was like starting over with all the yes and no questions. Big time waster. Also like to see how we compare to other "tax filers" regarding deductions and that was not offered this year. Also did not seem to have lots of state help info, and it would have been good to have a link to the state web site like they did to the federal one
What's great about it: Step by step instructions on what to enter where. Generally clear directions and questions
What's not so great: Did not like that I kept having to answer yes and no more than once. I already went through the section
