Took the stress off from my procrastinations!

As always, I wait until it's down to the wire to file. But Turbo-Tax sailed me right through everything and I was done in one sitting!! Great! Thanks TurboTax!

Completed our own taxes for the first time in over 15 years. Our previous tax preparer retired two years ago. Last year we had sticker shock with the price charged by another preparer. We only have a regular 1040 with standard deductions, 1099 INT, and 1099 DIV so nothing that warrented the price we paid last year. On top of that, Turbo Tax asked questions that caught small things the expensive preparer missed last year! Would recomend this porduct to others and would use again.
What's great about it: Easy to use; Found items my previous preparer missed, calculates as you go through rather than at the end

Have and would recommmend this software to anyone would like to file their returns without using an accountant

Redundant questions that require repeat entries of the same information- auto-fill options would be great. I will look for more fluid design in next year's version.
What's great about it: reputable software, error prevention programming, priced less than human service, convenient
What's not so great: redundant questions that should auto-fill
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good prep software

The only tax software that I use, could potentially be a little better.
What's great about it: Brings data in from the previous year, help docs are useful
What's not so great: State information is lacking

Personal & Corporate since the 1st Year!

I think that the first State Return should be included (free) with each year...
I am a huge fan and announce to ALL, every year that I do it all thru Turbo Tax!
It helps that we also use Quicken and Quickbooks Pro!
What's great about it: detailed, fast, user friendly
What's not so great: extra cost for each State Return

Complex made easy - too easy?

Once I had my documents together, I finished my itemized tax forms using the Turbo Tax wizards in about three hours. However, did Turbo Tax make it too easy? I found myself searching and double-checking to see if I got specific tax deductions and credits and how Turbo Tax made that determination. I found the information I wanted, but that part was not easy. Also, I found even less transparency into how Turbo Tax calculated my state returns.
What's great about it: Made filing 2012 federal tax returns easy
What's not so great: Too easy? Occassionaly, I felt it must be over-simplifying.
