I must have accidently indicated that I had a vehicle associated with a K1. I could not find where that entry was, could not delete the un-needed form, and could not file with it there. I had to have a professional look over the return in order to resolve the problem. very frustrating.
What's great about it: general ease of use
What's not so great: very difficult to find errors or delete forms that turbo tax generates

I'm a CPA, but the thought of doing my own taxes without using TurboTax is terrifying. Tax laws are complicated to say the least, but TurboTax makes the whole process relatively painless.

First time not using a CPA and it went super!

We have always used a tax service in the past. Our situation this year made us feel we could do this on our own and save a few hundred bucks. I looked at on-line reviews and saw that TurboTax was consistently highest rated. Since I have been a Quicken user for many years, I was also very comfortable with buying this. The system installed very easily and the ease of use was phenomenal - it walked me through the whole process and provided excellent help when I needed it. I can't stress how easy and straight forward the whole process was for me. I am very pleased with this product and have no reservations at all with my taxes. It makes me wonder why we used a tax service for so many years!
What's great about it: Step-by-step walk through was great, and easy to follow
What's not so great: none - except maybe for the offers that pop up, but even that is minor

Just follow the directions for easy filing. Had problems with Internet connection, but help was available. Rebooted PC and worked immediately.

My mother in law moved into a different school district during 2012. TT did split the income and made allocation of the income and tax as it should. Problem is that when one makes estimate payment to multiple school districts using the SD number, TT does not allow one to show how the estimates went in forcing it to W-2 line. What happens is you end up doing a paper or Ohio on line SD 100 Form because TT wont put in the estimated payments on the form when the 2nd school district is added.
Maybe Washington dragging their feet didn't allow for testing but it was very annoying. Since we are just a week away from filing day, TT has had tiime to check for errors and fix and yes I did run updates. Things worked fine if there is just 1 school district for the year. The W-2 line will not match at the state level and cause one grief.
What's not so great: Ohio School district SD100 is very trying

Very easy!

I filed the standard 1040 form and itemized my deductions. The process was straight forward and quick. However, there are a lot of questions to review. The nice thing is that Turbo Tax gives you a clue as to whether some of the obscure questions are common or uncommon. This helps in deciding how much time you take to research them. Overall, a very good experience. I've been using TurboTax for many years and will continue to do so!
What's great about it: Easy step by step guide. Very good help when needed by pressing F1. Can easily see Form View. Free Federal efiling
What's not so great: Seems like I have to update my forms each time I start Turbo tax
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Takes the worry out of tax law changes

Love that it populates what you had last year. That helps catch oversights. I like being taken through each step but I also like being able to skip around. First tiem e-filing. Pretty sweet.
What's great about it: Walks you through every step.
What's not so great: Some steps are rare situations.
