TurboTax is the best

Let's face it, paying taxes is always painful. Turbo tax reduces the pain of tax time to the lowest possible level. I couldn't imagine ever again doing my taxes on my own. This year, I used TurboTax Deluxe:
- Personal, employer, and account Information from past years is imported in the current year eliminating the time consuming reentry of old information.
- E-filing always functions as advertized. In my experience, rival products don't always work as well as TurboTax.
- TurboTax handles complex tax situations.

I've done my taxes by hand and used several tax preparation products and TurboTax is the best for the money. I'll never use anything else.

What's great about it: Quick in/out for simple return
What's not so great: DidCollege EIN I wasn't getting a tax credit or deduction for tuition & I still had to enter a #.

I find the whole process so easy, especially if you can keep your records up to date during the year, then everything is on hand when you need it
I usually just put everything in a folder that is related to my taxes, so that I don't have to search for information.
The information is simple to enter and the program can pick up any errors you might make.

Have been using Turbo Tax for years and fine it to be complete, comprehensive and accurate. Am able to report all types of income including IRA distributions and capital gains. Tracks loss carryovers for me. A great product.
What's great about it: comprehensive, accurate

Overall Turbo Tax provides great guidance regardless of the package that is purchased. I have found that when purchasing from locations other than Turbo Tax / Intuit it fails to bring forth my previous years information as consistently as it does when you purchase year to year as a subscription.
I had a Schedule K-1 company for Oil and Gas that decided to change to a Substitute 1099 and i didnt find Help instructions to assist in determining how to take information from that type of income into the simple boxes located on a 1099.

What's great about it: Simple input, fully integrated between forms and information
What's not so great: Not as seamless as expected when purchasing from different locations from one year to another
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
