So smooth

Turbo-Tax is so well thought out and developed that the user end is smooth and easy. Its just the easiest way to do the job that no one likes every year.

tough on Registered Dometic Partners

I loved Turbo Tax until I entered my Registered Domestic Partnership. It is such a hassle to have to create 3 federal returns: one for me, one for my partner, and a fictitious 3rd one in order to create our joint California return. Please Turbo Tax, come up with a way to generate a joint California return using the information already entered on the 2 seperate 1040's!! It takes me a full extra day to re-enter all of our information for a 3rd time on the fictitious joint 1040.
What's great about it: e-filing
What's not so great: having to make a 3rd 1040 from scratch

What's not so great: Extra fee for filing state - not good

I liked last year's version better. It seemed laid out better and easier to follow what was happening in Forms view. I had more difficulty determining source of entries in the Federal submission forms for current version.
Otherwise, it is a good tax preparation program making data entry fairly easy and clear. The importing of last year's data is nice, and the Step by Step guidance is easy to follow. However, finding the same place after quitting is not easy when the flag tool is not used - - - it's easy to forget setting flags before closing the program.
What's great about it: Very good overall. Transfer of data from last year very nice. Step by Step is good way to guide through the return
What's not so great: Not as easy to follow as last year. Not all sources of info were easily traceable

Good News--Bad News

Overall, I would continue to use Turbo Tax.
I think there are places in the program that have glitches. It insisted that I had errors in listing dependents....I don't have any dependents and I said so when I completed the first part of the return.
I also had a hard time getting it to print until I realized it was not sending to the printer I have installed with my computer.
What's great about it: All the calculations are done for you - the step-by-step format is easy to follow.
What's not so great: I had a hard time getting it to print -- I also had a difficult time getting back to the determination of estimated taxe

Nice and Easy!

Very easy layout and step by step approach. Had one small bug at end where it asked for Zip code of Emplyer,a nd I had no W-2 to file. By passed it and filed flawlessly.
What's great about it: Step by Step

Used Turbo Tax for my return, my dad's return, my ex-husband's return, and it is so easy to use, double checks to make sure I get the maximum refund possible, and when I had to call with a question, the support staff was fantastic.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Wonderful support.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.

We have used Turbo tax for several years. Each year it seems to improve.
What's great about it: I liked how Turbo tax walked me through each step, suggesting things I may not have considered for deductions.
What's not so great: I can't think of any!
