Still Turbo'd After All These Years!

TurboTax still rocks! We have used this program for YEARS and it seems to get easier every year! This has got to be the ultimate "Tax Program for Dummies" in that it walks you through EVERY possible category based on the answers to the interview questions at the very beginning. From there, it seems to take you from one end of the return to the other without any pain or stress, it knows what questions to ask, and it even lets you go back to the individual form (some folks are visual!) to see what it looks like after it's been entered. The only drawback is that it sometimes "loops" on itself...we refinanced last year, and it kept asking me about mortgage insurance premiums, even tho' I had entered them already! My husband and I also have business related expenses, and it asked for every possible deduction, including subscriptions for business publications and/or union dues!
We have used TurboTax Business for the small business we have had for the past 10 years and will use it for the last time next year, as we closed our business in 2013.
All of the TurboTax programs we have used are specific to your situation, are comprehensive in info gathering, and basically take the pain of tax time completely away!
GO TURBOTAX!!!
What's great about it: Constant update on forms, Easy Guide, link to individual forms
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to go back to precise spot, or "loops" when entering some categories

Deluxe

As a one stop process, the TurboTax Deluxe system allows me to put together my paperwork and get federal and state returns filed in a logical, easy and fast way.
What's great about it: TurboTax seems to cover all the areas that apply to my circumstances.
What's not so great: None

An Ohio Tale

We used Turbo Tax to complete our sons, sister's, and our taxes. If Turbo Tax had not been so detailed when it comes to retirement income, we would have ended up paying much more than we had to. Being a first year retiree, and having retired in the middle of the year, I was ready to go pay to have someone to complete my taxes but Turbo Tax came to the rescue.
What's great about it: Easy to Read and follow.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax is the sure thing for anbody new to filling taxes. For those of us that use Turbo Tax each year it keeps track of everything essential and makes the job much easier.
What's great about it: question and action instructions simple and easy to follow
What's not so great: Hard to go back to review specific items.

Only in the last few years have I noticed that the program will ask different questions when walking through the same steps. I recommend doing the tax program twice before submitting a return.

Turbotax is the best!

I appreciate the thoroughness of your software. This is the second year I have used the software myself (previously my husband of 30+ years, who passed away in 2011 used TurboTax). I found it to be very user-friendly. This coming from someone who is definitely not a number person!
What's great about it: Very helpful, useful and appreciated!
