Making The Complex Easy

I have used TurboTax for years and find it great to use. I like the step-by-step approach.
However, I wish TurboTax had the ability to review all categories used in the previous year and, when, there is no entry, prompt you to "go back and take a look at XXXX category". In doing my mom-in-law's taxes, it was only when I double-checked everythng that I discovered the state sales tax deduction had somehow been overlooked. It made over $100 difference in her refund. I recommend TurboTax to anyone who prepares his/her own taxes. Until we get a simple flat or fair tax or substitute a national sales tax for income tax, TurboTax helps take the pain out of April!

Great Tax Software

I have been using Turbo Tax software for many years. I switched from another software and it was the best decision ever made.
What's great about it: Simple to use and accurate.
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Refunds are sweet!!

Have been using TurboTax for 8 years now. Always the best results. Eliminates messy paperwork & record keeping. Would like to see an improvement in the software for checking to see if qualified to claim a deduction before actually starting a particular section. This could reduce the time to complete by a few minutes for me.
Looking forward to completing next years tax filing using TurboTax as I know it will be quick & easy even with moving to another State a couple months into the tax year.

I have used Turbo Tax ("TT") for at least 5 or 6 years. Most of the steps in the data-entering are fairly quick as TT makes it easy (e.g. 1099 information is simply input into TT by matching box numbers on the 1099 Form to box numbers in TT), and TT also makes it easy when entering values for non-cash charitable donations such as clothes--TT Deluxe has a pre-made list of items and values so all you have to do is put in the quantity donated.
Convenience of electronically filing federal (and state with the deluxe version) tax return for a quick refurn is excellent.
First issue I have had in all the years of using TT was with my Minnesota returns--a previous return for propert tax was incorrect and I had to pay a small penalty, and then this year I finished the state return and it said I could not e-file it due to an error (error was an erroneous entry that was due to either TT or the investment compa ny I downloaded the information from). Either way, TT has updated the software to correct the state return for MN residents and after a couple of software updates, the issue with my e-file this year has also been corrected. Problems can occur with any produnt you buy from any vendor, the real test is what happens after something goes wrong. TT seems to have worked out everything just fine. Thanks!

Was difficult figuring taxable income from OPM 1099 R Need Simplified Method Worksheet to compute since OPM doesn't.

I use it every year & love it! It saves your data from year to year, so there is no need to re-enter things. You can do taxes with confidence from the comfort of your own home, at what ever pace you choose. It literally walks you through everything you need help with & allows you to skip areas when you know it doesn't apply to your situation. Couldn't be easier or more reliable!
