Turbo tax helped make sure all my information was accurate and safe; being from South Carolina after having my Social security information compromised it definately made me feel safe.
What's great about it: It helped me find deductions i didnt evne know about
What's not so great: If you update in the middle of doing your return it take you in a loop

Turbo Tax is very easy to use yet very comprehensive. I like how it takes you step by step through everything, provides audit protection, and rates your audit risk. It was comforting to know we were at low risk for an audit. Importing information from our prior return automatically was also a huge time saver this year.
What's great about it: Very simple & thorough
What's not so great: Smaller refunds then last year--not Turbo Taxes fault

In setting different returns (i.e. Married filed Jointly to Married Filing Separately) not easy to easily replicate info from the forms. Outside of that Turbo Tax is easy to use.
What's great about it: Easy and quick to use.
What's not so great: Not easy to shift from one return to the other

Software did not permit me to override its calculations of SWI taxes to agree with info on W-2

Turbotax is the "The Gold Standard"

I started using Macintax in 1988 and switched to Turbotax when the two programs were merged in 1998 (?) I have never had a bad experience with the Turbotax. I have used it for my personal tax returns which over the years have included regular income, 1099 income, a rental property & a home business. I have done my Moms taxes for years and have now reached the point where I have shown three teenagers how to file their own taxes using Turbotax. When people ask me what my favorite computer game is I tell them "Turbotax...because it pays off in real dollars, not fake gold coins or dead aliens.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Accurate, FAST

Turbotax makes it easy

For most tax filers, you simply enter your W2 info and run through the question/answer session - then you're done. Turbo tax software has all the components of tax law incorporated that minimize the amount of tax paid. Easy, simple, lower taxes. What else could you want?
What's great about it: Tax laws are numerous & complicated - turbo tax make it easy
What's not so great: Difficult to import W2 - no idea how to do that
