2012 Tax filing experience

I decided to complete my tax return last minute even though I purchase the software several months ahead of time. I procrastinated and was still able to complete my return correctly on time. It took me approximately 3 days because I was not organized either.
The step through guidance made me search more for possible deductions that I might have, reducing my federal tax due and increasing my state refund. I will even credit TurboTax with making me have a come to Jesus meeting with myself, because in the process I actually cleaned my office a chores long overdue.
I don't like the attempt to make me create an account to keep track of me. I don’t like sharing my credit card information unnecessarily. In the recent past many companies have responsible for the lost of customer’s personal information, which later had their credit compromised. The hassles and horror stories associated with getting credit straightened out frightens me. Soon I may be divorced and will have no one to depend on except for myself. With that in mind, my financial well being and credit health is something I cannot afford to leave to chance, so I tend not to want share that anyone. It is not that companies are not trustworthy, but no one will protect my information like I will.
My experience with TurboTax has been good this year much like prior years.

AWESOME SOFTWARE, THANK YOU

I have been a loyal Turbotax user for years. I have helped several other people learn how to do their own on turbotax as well so they now purchase the software. I used other sites just to see how they work and delete my return at the end. I will never use another software to do my taxes. If I ever have an odd circumstance, I love that there are people to help me if i need it, or be represented when I file my return. All I can say is thank you for the affordable way you have given us to complete our taxes without spending hundreds of dollars to get them done. ANYONE CAN USE THIS, you do not have to know about taxes prior, it will guide you and teach you things you never knew.

Great program

I have used turbotax for years and have found it to be comparable to any other tax company. I like the fact that I can work on my taxes when the time is convenient for me. I often have to start and stop while in the process due to time constraints and interruptions not allowing me to complete in one sitting. It doesn't usually take long to complete and gives you the option of reviewing as many times as needed before filing. For instance this year I completed my taxes and when reviewing realized that I had missed something important. I went back and added the information and saved myself a lot of money. I will continue to use turbotax in the future.
What's great about it: Easy guidance through the return with the opportunity to get additional information at your fingertips
What's not so great: When saving return it takes you back to the beginning which would be a good review but can be annoying.

Fun with Taxes for once

What's great about it: Easy of use

Easy Return Process

Using the Turbo tax software made filing taxes extremely easy. Very user friendly!
What's great about it: Very easy to use the software

Taxes made simple!

I have been using Turbo Tax for quite a few years now. I feel confident that all deductions are taken advantage of as I go through the guided process but enjoy being able to adjust individual forms when necessary without going through the whole process again. Last year we closed a business. It was easy to delete the Schedule C forms that automatically loaded for this year.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Imports from previous years.
What's not so great: Didn't find any

NY State Tax bug in program

I received an error that my spouses name did not match on two forms (IT203 and IT203-C). When I overrode the blank on form IT203-C because TurboTax did not flow my wife's name onto the appropriate worksheets, I was forced to file by mail.
What's great about it: NJ State and Federal Taxes went smoothly
What's not so great: NY State Tax bug in turbo tax program - no support
