i liked the previous editions of turbo tax but all in all prefer this over other tax preparation software

I will continue to use the product because of its ease to use. Hard for old folkds to keep up with all the changes
What's great about it: I have been using this product for years and really the ease of its use.
What's not so great: haing to go back and forth to enter "0" on a lot of items

Missed a penalty rule

Turbotax ended up including a penalty for underpayment of taxes, which I questioned because my taxes are always withheld. So I researched it and found a rule that applied to my case, but a rule that Turbotax hadn't checked or asked me about. When I then searched for it within Turbotax, it stepped me through the right questions and removed the penalty. I think it should have found that issue for me. Made me wonder if there were other quirks about my very simple tax situation that Turbotax was missing and I don't even know to look for.
What's great about it: Steps through all the items and makes all the calculations for me
What's not so great: Misapplied a tax underpayment penalty, which I had to research on my own to find

Awesome experience

I have been using turbotax for 5 or 6 years now and it makes a complicated and confusing process very simple. The questions are clear and straight forward, additional resources are only one click away, and e-filing is so simple. I am not an accountant but this product makes taxes as simple as they can be.

filing made easy

This was the 4th year we've used turbo tax to file and although we've had to pay in the last couple of years due to how we claim our exemptions during the year and some some 401k issues using the turbo tax progam is and was very easy to use as it walks you through step by step every section. i have 2 sisters and my mother also use turbo tax they also love it and are repeat useres too. thanks turbo tax!!
What's great about it: very easy to understand
What's not so great: couldn't find anything i didn't like about turbo tax

Great overall. Easy transfer of info from one year to the next. Easy walk-through of all aspects of data entry. Generally good user support information. Will definitely use it again next year.
Problem: I am a NH resident. Upon initial entry of information, it was not at all clear how to mark my unearned income so that it would not be taxed on my Massachusetts non-resident tax return. I had to consult an accountant who agreed with my instinct that I should owe no Massachusetts income tax on this income. I then took an update to Turbotax in mid-March, at which time it became clearer how to mark this income as not affecting my Mass return. This could be a lot clearer. In my case, once clarified, the savings to me on my Mass return was ~$7,500.
What's great about it: Easy transfer of data from one year to next
What's not so great: Non-resident taxes for Massachusetts not clear about taxes on unearned income
