Love it!

I don't have a terribly complicated tax situation, but it used to take hours and hours to get it all together. TurboTax steps through the questions quickly, even using lots of last year's data. This year I was done so fast, I felt a little guilty.
What's great about it: It's fast. Done before I knew it.

Has used TTax for over 10 years. Never had a problem with this product. Always used as a home based residential user.

Don's 2012 turbo tax experience

I have great difficulty with form 8903. The auditors use terms that are different than the IRS terms in their instructions. Then the terms you use are different than both of the above. I would think you could include a small spread sheet that would calculate the amounts to include in turbo tax. This single form wastes more time for me than anything else. I am specifically talking about box 12 on the K1 and I never know if it is correct!
What's great about it: The accuracy of the return calculations
What's not so great: the DPAD deduction 0n form 8903 is very confusing

Used Successfully for Years

I have used Turbo Tax for years. I have always been confident when I submit my returns. I know they are accurate and have been checked thoroughly. I have gotten many friends to use Turbo Tax and they have all continued to use it over the years. It is just the way to go when it comes to filing your taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and use.
What's not so great: Nothing I don't like about this software.

I love turbo tax! I don't want to pay a professional but as the years go by and my returns get more complicated (I can't do the 1040-EZ anymore) I am losing confidence in my ability to file my returns properly, so I really appreciate the way T.T. leads you through everything step by step. My only suggestion would be to somehow improve the "navigation" so that if you remember something that you have to amend, you can get back to that page without clicking "BACK" 100 times. Also, while filling things out I clicked the box that I wanted to amend a prior year's return, then I decided to scratch that and it took me such a long time and a lot of clicking to figure out how to undo that action and I kept getting warnings about it (as unfinished business) when I was trying to finalize my filing.
What's great about it: Saves info from last year; very thorough and well-organized; saves you lots of $ in relation to paid preparers
What's not so great: I find it difficult to navigate in a certain sense

Easy breezy

After reading reviews, very concerned about uploading last years data. Have used the program for over 10 years, but always on a window machine. I copied last years data on a stick drive and stuck it in to my MAC. The program allowed me to select the 2010 data and had no problem loading. Takes a couple hours to be guided through the program, if you have all your data handy.
What's great about it: Easy upload from last year. Took less than two hours to compete
What's not so great: Little difficult to figure how to and where to correct errors
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Minimized the bill and pain

Very thorough in covering topics. Not just in saving me money today, but instructed me on what to do differently next year to improve my results.
What's great about it: Walked me thru everything. Assured my best bottom line.
What's not so great: Still owed money, but less. More imprtantly I know what to fix.
