My taxes have become progressively more complex as I'm approaching retirement and my investments have become somewhat more diverse. I found the process of getting through most of it pretty straight forward, perhaps because its the second or third time I've gone through the more complex elements (capital gains transactions, basis, etc.), but time consuming.
Generally speaking I found the software anticipated my questions or concerns as they arose and I didn't have to go looking for answers. Kudos to the tax preparation experts who engineered the process and progression of steps.

What's great about it: The guide through the different phases of the return really helped make the process seem logical.
What's not so great: A few of the investment elements (especially foreign taxes) were a bit confusing and took some to comprehend.

Have used TubroTax for years. Like direct answers to questions in prior years.
Q & A blogs are no my thing. Answers are no always correct.
What's great about it: K-1 filing is included
What's not so great: Little explaination of entries

2012 appears to be much more complete and better integrated. The transition from section to section was smoother. 1099's from life insurance policies were easier to handle and followed the companies reporting format. The on line explanation of tax credits for energy star purchases is weak. I didn't follow the calculation but neither did I pursue the Federal form; i trusted your calculations.
Good work on the 2012 product.
What's great about it: 2012 is much easier to use that 2010 or 2011. The handling of the 1099's from various insurance firms was easier
What's not so great: Slow to load or is that my old Dell?
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax and Me

For the most part I was happy as I have been over the years. The software interface is a bit dated and could use a face lift. It is a little cumbersome to find the forms. Having the ability to pull up the tax form while in auto mode to review and edit as you go would a very nice option.
Don't be discouraged as these are some pretty small items when looking at the entire package.
With that said it is still a superb Tax program and would highly recommend it.

What's not so great: Help needs some help of it's own.

Confident Turbo Tax will find all errors , deductions, income, and know the latest forms and guidelines. Also it takes last year's data and brings it forward to this year.
What's great about it: I'm confident it's a good return!
What's not so great: Would like it to compare joint vs separate married filing.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
