Easy

My review was only complicated because of the large number of charitable contributions and savings bonds that we cashed in this year, but Turbo-Tax handled them with ease. My father's return was complicated by the passing of my mother, and some property owned by their trust, and knowing how to do a cost basis on that was the biggest problem, so to be safe we went the professional tax preparer route, but he will be back next year.
What's great about it: Help with charitable non-cash deductions
What's not so great: My shortcomings of tax laws lead me down an expensive path

Too Many Unimportant Changes Year to Year

Many of the changes are unnecessary - llike how to print and save your return, etc. TurboTax lacks a consistent year-to-year feel that detracts from confidence in the product. Since I've found significant errors in TurboTax about once every four years, changes that are not driven by the tax code make me uncomfortable.
Also, there needs to be some capability to account for unusual situations, such as no payer ID for a foreign pension payer. Can't clear the error, can't file electronically

Easy as Sunday Mornin

Turbo Tax made tax time so easy. I don't see why anyone would hire a professional to do what I just did with the help of Turbo Tax. This is the second year I've used the product and will definitely use it again next year.
What's great about it: I felt as if someone held my hand through every step to make this process so easy.

Overall, the best tax service out there

I have been using Turbo Tax for the past four years and love the simplicity and security I get for using this program. I even have the added audit protection, shoud the need arise, that allows me to feel less vulnerable than I have felt about my taxes in the past.
What's great about it: Excellent breakdown of complex topics
What's not so great: Not fond of the difficulty of finding a topic after it has been seen

I love being able to switch between step by step and forms. I do like to look at the forms and check the calculations. Had problems searching for one small piece of information, but found it at the end anyway so it wasn't terrible. Overall, I am satisfied with TurboTax. Having used it for many years, I like that it is kept in the same format so I am easily able to do the next years return. It helps to have personal information already there!
What's great about it: Easy to use for non-professionals.
What's not so great: Sometimes detailed info is hard to find.

It's better than last year

1). It is not flexible.
2). When charging a State income tax software, Turbo Tax is not supposed to charge e-filing. At least one state e-filing should be free.

Great for the whole family

We did 4 Federal and 5 state returns as 1 of my 3 “filing” children lived (and worked) in two states.
I’ve been using Turbo Tax for years and each year it gets easier and easier. Thanks Turbo Tax!
