This is the only product that i have ever used and I have used it for years! It's great, simple to use and to navagate in and out of your taxes. I have seriously been very happy to have it. The only thing that i would like to ask for next year would be make it easy to go back. I was as lazy as my dog on tax day it took no time I even baked a cake!
What's great about it: fast and accurate
What's not so great: the back key was hard to find some of the time

One Afternoon

The Federal and State forms were completed and e-filed in
one afternoon. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
What's great about it: Quickly processes new information and incorporates last year's info.
What's not so great: None comes to mind. The task is not pleasant.

I've used TurboTax for many years and have been fully satisfied with how it handled my tax returns. Typically, the process is straightforward and simple. This year, however, was a little different. We installed a solar power system and I was expecting that the energy-efficient improvements credit would be a simple entry. What I found, however, was that the home energy improvements section of the interview had a long list of items that qualified for the $500 credit and a note that said: "We'll ask you about improvements you made for solar, wind energy, geothermal heat pumps, fuel cells a little later on." Well, it didn't ever ask. Nowhere could I find a way for the system to address a solar power system installation. I finally went to the specific IRS form, 5695, and was able to enter the information. This was the first time I've experienced a glaring omission from TurboTax's step-by-step process. Other than that the system worked great, as usual.
What's great about it: Step-by-step process is very thorough
What's not so great: Wasn't able to take care of solar system credit in step-by-step interview

One minor issue found. The instruction sheet for filing state returns says do not attach forms W-2. But the forms printed out for the state return, say to attach form(s) W--2, (mid-way on page, left side)
What's great about it: quick

I love turbotax my mother in law purchases it, my brother, my mother, and me and my husband! We LOVE your product and are so thankful someone made this complicated process so much easier. My husband does not have a business anymore but it made the business taxes MUCH easier too.
What's great about it: Loved the way it is an interview and step by step!
What's not so great: The pushing of the State refund.

I have used TTax for 15 years and find this version follows the design defined 5 years ago. It is a good thing that the interface does not change significantly from year to year.
I have never been successful importing tax records from banks and investment companies. This year 3 out of 5 worked. I had difficult investment sales this year from ESOPs and the import success made things easier. Although most of the 1099-B information was imported, some cell in the same 1099 failed to be populated. Manual entry was necessary from the hard-copy 1099B form.
I used the view forms feature to understand erroneous entries that I made (driven by misunderstanding of TTax questions asked). I had to search the program controls and futons to find the view forms feature. At first, I thought the feature was deleted this year. I would like to see an ICON or right mouse click to get to this feature. I was not alone with this problem. I have a friend at work that also though the feature was removed. After finding the pull-down menu I found that the feature was actually greatly improved.
What's great about it: Easy to use, record import actually works for the first time
What's not so great: Difficult to know that there is still a view forms feature.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
