A few rough patches

Data entry went pretty smoothly and, in general, the program seemed easier to use than in previous years. There are still a few areas that could use improvement, especially at the point of deciding whether to file by mail or electronically. I had filed online before, but never when owing money, so I was unsure what the process would be. It was a bit disconcerting to be thrown into my browser when clicking a link for further information regarding electronic filing, because it was totally unexpected. Previous clicks for more information had been responded to within Turbotax. It was not immediately clear whether I was on an information page or about to pull the trigger on filing. My initial reaction was to close the web page immediately, and I was unsure as to whether something had gone wrong.
Then, after deciding to file online, I was confronted with a go-ahead decision without benefit of knowing whether there would be additional steps or I was actually initiating the filing process. A prominent statement that there would be an opportunity to change my mind would have been very helpful. Consequently I hesitated, then tried to print to a PDF so could get a final look before committing. At that point the program closed without warning and I had to re-enter a small amount of unsaved data.
All in all it was a reasonably painless experience with a few moments of angst.
What's great about it: Got it done pretty quickly
What's not so great: Crashed once with data loss when trying to print.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Quick & Easy!

I did my taxes along with those of both my elderly mother and uncle. Turbo Tax sure beats reading the tax book every year!

Fairly easy to use

Prefer purchasing the electronic tax help to paying for a professional certified public accountant to prepare returns.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions, accompanied by helps
What's not so great: Lots of legal/tax lingo that provided some careful and timely thought.

Always the Easiest

Turbotax makes the complicated process of taxes very simple making sure I get the best refund possible. We've been using TurboTax since 2002 and wouldn't use any thing else!

Love Turbo

I've been using TurboTax for years and love it! It's so easy with transferring all the information from the year prior! I really like the step by step process to ensure you're understanding it all. I always feel confident doing my return myself! Thank you!

Not perfect yet

I was not asked for the basis of passive income generating assets in the TT interview and indicated zero allocable interest. Ultimately, the error check process identified the asset bases as missing. Ideally, this would have been addressed in the interview. Otherwise, I am a longtime fan of TT, and it was generally better this year than last.
