Back in the 90's I used to use Turbotax but things changed and got complicated so I switched to tax people. Now I'm living a simple life again and figured it was time to do my own taxes again.
It was easy to install and easy to use. My hand was held all the way through the process.
Very pleased with the Turbo Tax. I might even check out the Quicken products.

Beats trying to do these by hand

I've used Turbo Tax for years. This sure beats trying to do all these forms by hand. The only issue I have is that the instructions or questions aren't always written in plain english that a lay person can understand.
What's great about it: does all calculations for you
What's not so great: Instructions aren't always in plain english

46 pages to print for the feds? only 33 pages to send in the state? with the amount I paid state should be included.

Overall a good expereince

I like that Turbotax is easy to use and can direct me to where I need to go so I don't waste my time going through things I don't qualify for in the first place but, I wish the search feature (it searches other questions that have already been posted by other users) was more accurate. I have a few questions that have been left unanswered because that section of the website was frustrating to use. I spent so much time searching for answers that I finally just gave up and moved on. The chat with an expert feature wasn't always easy to find either. Outside of those 2 issues, it was a good experience.
What's great about it: Easy to use, convenient, much faster than filing a hard copy
What's not so great: Needed more explanation/help in certain areas

Straight Forward

Nice easy way to do Taxes. I had two W-2's, multiple 1099's, my wife's Avon business, a Schedule K-1, and deductions. Definitely not your 1040EZ. Filling out the forms would have been a pain not to mention knowing where to put what and getting the calculations correct.
It was a matter of reading, filling in, and clicking "Continue".
At least the 14th year for using TurboTax. Also use Business version for LLC.
What's great about it: Read and answer
What's not so great: Have to pay to E-file State.

All my questions were answered and I was properly shown how to get my taxes completed properly. I have a court order that creates a problem with who gets to claim my beautiful daughter. This was my year to claim her but my e-file was rejected because my x-spouse already claimed her... Again!!! After waiting for 35 min for a live person to chat with, the chat agent called me and walked me through the correct process and gave me a special number to the IRS to insure my taxes would still go through properly.

What's not so great: always takes 30 minutes to an hour to get live help

IRA data for retirees not easily presented.
What's great about it: Improved "Guided" filing proceedure.
What's not so great: IRA data for RMD not presented well.
