THE STEP BY STEP IS GREAT. HAD A GREAT EXPERIANCE WITH THE HELPER ON THE PHONE. HE WENT STEP BY STEP ON HOW TO FIX A DEPRECIATION ISSUE. FELT CONFIDENT THE HELPER KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING.

Great tax return tool

Excellent tool. I've been using TurboTax since 2004 because it is clear to understand, imports data from prior year, helps me get the deductions I am entitled to get.
What's great about it: Easy to use, thorough
What's not so great: Difficult to understand what some fields are meant to hold

The most time consuming part of doing my own taxes is organizing my papers. After that, uploading and following the Turbo Tax questions is a snap.

import did not work. Liked everything else

If the imports had worked I would have been thrilled. As it was I spent hours trying to get the imports to work and then hours entering and checking the multitude of entries it should have imported. Otherwise, I liked the freedom to move around the form and edit entries.
What's great about it: Really like the user interface
What's not so great: Imports did not work--none at all. bummer. State efile charge

Easy!

I have no accounting or tax preparation training. Believe me, if I can do my taxes, anyone can. TurboTax is great because it takes you through each part a step at a time,making it difficult for the user to screw up. This software has taught me a great deal about my financial picture. It's not only a terrific way to do your taxes but a super teaching tool. Plus, I don't have to pay accountant's fees.
What's great about it: Walk-through the best! Really like the feature of importing data from financial institutions
What's not so great: Can't think of any

I am a first time user of Turbo Tax and I am now a life long user. This program is easy to use and walks you through everything it is great. I would recommend to anyone to use this software.

Time Saver

Turbo Tax couldn't have made it easier for me to complete and file my taxes, plus I was able to do it all in the privacy of my home.
What's great about it: Balance Due/Refund Box, Step-by-Step Guidance
What's not so great: Cost to Electronically File State Tax Return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
