I'm a tax dummy and this was a little daunting at first, but then it got easier as I got into it. Really felt good after E-filing! Highly recommended!

how to un-do mistakes

as a first time user, could not figure out how to undo an accidently deleted 1099B item.
What's great about it: usually not necessary
What's not so great: don't know how to "escape" or "undo" an action

For dumb blondes like me, this is a snap! I wish we could select the 1040EZ at the begining, without having to answer a million questions and go through a million screens that just don't apply to a working girl like me...
What's great about it: so easy a cave man could do it...
What's not so great: Too many questions and screens for simple returns

Consistently does the job

I have used this product for over 10 years and recommended it to friends. Each year the product is comfortably familiar yet new features are added making my tax prep easier. The new features seem to use the same "logic" as the previous programs for ease of learning the new items. My only problem is sometimes drilling down far enough to find the data source.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to locate data source

In spite of the few minor bumps while filling in all the needed information, I would not trade it for doing it manually nor taking it to a commercial tax preparer.
What's great about it: Electronic transfer of investment information
What's not so great: having to search "cost basis" on donated stocks.

TurboTax helped us by pointing out things for us to use for tax purposes that we didn't know about. We have had someone prepare our taxes for the last few years so were very pleased that TurboTax made it easy for us to do our own this year. I know that the updating the software is the best way to get the latest products and that helps me but, I couldn't even finish the final efile until it was updated. Overall, very impressed that TurboTax made it so easy.
What's great about it: made me look at things I hadn't thought of
