This was my first time doing my taxes. turbo tax made it easy and fast!
What's great about it: Fast, easy, cost effevtive
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've used Turbo Tax every year for as long as I can remember. Always easy, must be accurate (haven't been audited yet...knock on wood), eliminate me having to know and understand each spoecifc new tax law that comes out. EFiling made simple.
What's great about it: Fast, Straight Forward, Easy & Reliable
What's not so great: Wish State Filing was free. Cost to file too much in regards to amt being refunded for my kids returns.

Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax is reliable and simple to use. I especially appreciate how it pulls information from prior tax year for such things as capital losses or depreciation - both of which are tabulated over time. I recommend this software as an easy introduction to one doing his/her own taxes or for those with business taxes. I have used Turbo Tax for several years and found it clear and user friendly.
What's great about it: Simple, clear, and well organized
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to find help answers
Pros: I bought or sold investments

After completing the Federal portion of my taxes I was given the option to use the itemized deduction or have TT rerun the calculations with the standard deduuctions. I wanted to save a copy of the return at that point with a different name (hopeing I would be able to have the copy run with the standard deduction and compare the two reports myself. When I opened the copy I could not continue where I was but was propted to step through the entire return. There were several places in the return where it appeared that I was double entering information that I had already entered.
What's great about it: the program seems more responsive than the 2011 version. Branch points for different tax liabilities seemed smother.
What's not so great: could not save a copy of my return and pick up in the copy the same place I left off in the original.

Been using TT for 10 years now and would not consider doing any other way. Easy to use and info from prior tax years automatically transferred. This makes for easy prompting and comparison for accuracy.
What's great about it: Ease of use, prior year tax info transferred.

Fast and Easy

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and find the 2012 edition the easiest to use to date.
The guided questions cover everything and provide all the help you need at a keystroke.
I don't see how it can be any easier. Probably the same software that your tax professional is using but, you pay him to use it.

exactly what i expect

been using TT for the past couple years, no matter what my tax situation is I can find the appropriate program for my particular needs.
What's great about it: timesaving, efficient, easy to use
What's not so great: cost is too high to do individual state taxes
