The program definitely speeds up preparing a return. The program did not catch that I filed as a PSO for several years and then did not last year. I had to file an amended return this year when I caught the error when comparing income over the 5-year period.
What's great about it: If you use the product each year, the pre-filled forms speed things up considerably.
What's not so great: Some entries are compared to last years return, some are not.

I USED to use HR Block software until this year. I have 5 items in box 12 of my W2. With HR software it won't let you e-file with 5 items listed. TurboTax CAN. You have a new customer from now on!
What's great about it: Can e-file with 5 items in box 12 of W2. Can't do that with HR Block software

Turbotax made it easy!

I have used Turbotax for several years, and know my way around, so I have rarely needed support or explanations. I look forward to tax preparation with some trepidation, but after it is all done, I can breathe easy and realize that it is not that difficult. It helps that I now know what will be required, and prepare by having all my information at hand and checked over. I also appreciate being able to import information from banks and brokers (I remember having to input each capital gains transaction...it took hours and was subject to error). I also keep track of my charitable deductions on " It's Deductible" and can input that.
What's great about it: Was able to complete my taxes with a minimum of frustration.
What's not so great: Some unnecessay repetitions.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I now have my coworkers useing Turbo Tax. They couldn't believe how easy it was. They now buy the program & save big $$$$$.

This was a great experience. Hope everything is correct. Always had my taxes done by a certified tax prepairer. Usually got more back from Federal, less from state, now it is just reversed. Was surprised that I could match up all the information that was asked for by the box that was called out. Did have some cloudy areas where definitions were given, possibly more detailed info/definition could be given instead of referred to the tax code.
What's great about it: Very detailed.
What's not so great: Some definitions vague.

wants to print worksheets, payment vouchers and a lot of superfluous junk!
What's great about it: fairly easy and straight forward.

TurboTax makes preparing your tax returns so easy. No need to spend money an CPA's to prepare your returns, just do it by yourself, in your own time, at your convenience, when ever you need to get them done.
What's great about it: Walks you through every detail
