That was a first time I've filed taxes myself. Using TurboTax helped me a lot. I like it and will use it every year

As in the past, the software was very easy to use and provided me with all the information needed to get the taxes done.
What's great about it: Liked review at end and ease to make corrections
What's not so great: Amount of time for software to load

Was a very easy and simple way to file taxes. Even with many itemized deductions it did not take long to accomplish. My only con is when I itemized my tools for my previous job it did not tell me why it was not counted. I had to go online and find out that you need more than the standard deduction. It could've saved me 10 minutes of time if there was a pop up to tell me that before I started to itemize the tools.
What's great about it: Walked you through everything. Very easy to use.
What's not so great: Need more details on why itemized deductions were not used.

This return was filled out for my deceased fathers taxes. He had been receiving a Civil Service (Federal) retirement pension. His Form CSA1099R showed "Unknown" as the taxable amount in Box2A. TT failed to ask the appropriate questions to arrive at the correct value for this box. This caused a >$6000 error for his estimated refund, which was not correct. Fortunately I did not believe the number shown by TT, did my homework, and calculated the correct value. The final refund was $62, which also makes more sense.
This 'fix' needs to be incorporated into next year's TT. I have been a user of TT for about 15 years and am overall a happy customer.
What's great about it: Relatively simple and easy way to file returns.
What's not so great: TT made an error of sorts on income information.

I haved use Turbo Tax for the last nine years and have been happy with the results ... even if it won't give me a refund (IT IS NOT TURBO TAX'S PROBLEM)

Overall Turbotax has continued to make filing on your own easier each year. Explanation of why certain deductions are able to be used and why others are not is helpful to understand tax preparation.
What's great about it: Walks you through every step of filing.
What's not so great: Some confusion on investments such as 401k & education savings

Turbo Tax continues to be the easiest way to create and file my income tax.
As long as the software continues to easily walk you through the steps and I can download all info and investment numbers, there is no reason to use an accountant.

What's not so great: state forms were not working for a while - otherwise I would give a 5
