Quick and Easy

Turbotax makes the filing of income taxes easy. It simplifies the very complicated process of digging through the pile of federal and state tax forms and instructions. Being able to transfer information from one year to the ext is also a big plus.
What's great about it: step-by-step directions; easy editing
What's not so great: No significant cons

Turbotax always delivers!

Turbo tax continues to improve the tax prep process. Their system guides you through the process but still allows you to go off on your own for those areas that you need to access. Another great year Intuit...thank you!

Turbo Tax should have a worksheet that replicates a HUD-1 statement. This could make it much easier to identify what is deductible on a typical house closing
What's great about it: Like the automated fill of data from previous year
What's not so great: Terrible for identifying deductible items for home sale closing costs

1. I remember when I had to figure out the parsonage allowance calculations by hand because there was no tax program for the layman to use. Now TurboTax gets this right.
2. TurboTax alerted me to the fact that the Social Security Administration has a family member's birthdate listed incorrectly. Ahhh . . . another bureaurocratic mistake to fix.
What's great about it: Parsonage Allowance done well. Checks alert to problems.

will not use turbo next year, I can do it cheaper with other software or myself............e-filing too expensive

What's not so great: some times could be easier to get frome one area to another or back to an area to make adjustments
