college credit lost

if you have the education credit for college. It doesn't tell you that if you continue that you will loose it. I just lost $2800.

Another year complete

There was some confusion about the questions and answers relating to an IRA conversion and cashout. Since Turbotax found no errors, everything should be correct.
What's great about it: Still a relativley easy program to use.
What's not so great: IRA conversions somewhat confusing.

Many of the changes you made are reduntant

I've used this program for years, this year it seems impossible to get to review the return in print. I know how to look at individual forms but find it tedious.
someone starting brand new with no knowledge will take forever to finish a return. I may look at other programs in the future.
What's great about it: Been using program since 2002, earlier programs more simple
What's not so great: Forms and information at the end to long, I am finished and want to see my copies still not at the step

It made Taxes painless

I liked the whole process. I have been using a tax professional since I had a business for years. Now that we sold the business and sold our souls to the industrial complex I thought it was time to do my own taxes.
What's great about it: Questions to verify your status/issue
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Could not get city tax return after paying for it,

This is the worst year i had doing my taxes, I started in 1999 with turbo.

TOOK AWHILE

The program hung up on the state return and would not proceed. The next day I returned to the program and it worked.
What's great about it: DID ALL THE CALCULATIONS
What's not so great: PROGRAM HUNG UP ON STATE RETURN

Gets Easier Every Year

The fuzzy instructions are disappearing, and it is easier to figure out whether something applies to you.
What's great about it: Brings up previous year's info and prompts you to enter info for this year, but still lets you change things
What's not so great: Could use better prompting on the work expense area: small expenses vs. large ietms.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
