Nice and smooth

For an older couple (around 50) with no children at home and mainly just a mortgage to write off, this is a great software package. Our tax info is pretty straightforward. Property taxes, some charitable deductions, mortgage interest, etc. Not a whole lot there, but you also do not want to miss anything you may have coming your way, especially when your bracket is relatively high. I highly recommend.
What's great about it: Step by step
What's not so great: None that I encountered.

First time Using Turbo Tax

This was my first time using this product. I have to say it was very easy to use. I am usually the one who asks my tax preparer a lot of questions. This program included answers to all the questions I would have asked. Last year was my final time going to get my taxes completed by a professional, unless I win the lottery.
What's great about it: Easy!!!!!!!! & economical.
What's not so great: Kind of lengthy, but well worth the time.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

BUY TurboTax - You will not regret it!

VERY easy to use. Step-by-step instructions (if needed). We used to have a family member whom is a CPA do our tax returns and we love doing our own now! It is also nice to keep our information private and/or without having to go to professionals, wait for an appointment, feel like a "number", and pay an outrageous fee! I got our taxes done within 6 hours today and they are e-filed already! We have been using TT since 2005. It is actually ALOT of fun to do them. (I was horrible at math through out school and this program rocks! A+++ rating! :)
What's great about it: LOVE TurboTax
What's not so great: Nothing negative at all - All good!

The 2012 TurboTax Deluxe program was easy to use, intuitive, and I believe that it ensured that I received the absolute largest Tax Refund that I could receive. Thanks TurboTax!
What's great about it: Easy to use, quality family bonding time
What's not so great: The creepy pictures of the tax professionals that pop up every now and again

shortcomings

first time through I almost had it completed when I had a major computer problem; lost the entered info and had to start from scratch.
Second time through I missed reporting an annuity which had been reported the prior year; thought it should have been caught by Turbo. Filed both returns electronically; both were accepted. Had more computer problems so couldn't print out return for comparison to last years.
Printer fixed; compared returns and discovered missed annuity entry; redid return.
NO INSTRUCTIO ON HOW TO AMEND RETURN ELECTRONICALLY;
NO SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS ON MAILING AMENDED RETURN; NO ADDRESS OF IRS OR HOW TO FLAG PROBLEM
