This is my 5th or 6th year using Turbo Tax. It is unbelievable how easy it is to use. Turbo Tax keeps your info from year and transfers most info for you. Tax prep takes about 2 hours.
What's great about it: Very easy to navigate.

Overall I would endorse TurboTax for anyone filing their taxes themselves. It provided step by step instructions that make it very easy to prepare your own return

turbo charged with ease

it's a no brainer using turbotax. can't mess up, every step of the way is fully explained. it's so easy, certified accountants probably use turbotax for their own personal taxes rather than have to figure it out for themselves and risk making a costly mistake on their own taxes. oh yeah, and cavemen too!
What's great about it: itsdedeductable makes valuing donations itsincredible
What's not so great: only thing that would make it easier is if turbotax typed it all in for me

Great software, easier every year!

Going through the software menus is very intuitive for the majority of the application. The only fuzzy area is the description of personal property taxes for Virginia. It's not clear whether the taxes for cars are deductible although the tax meets the criteria for a deductible item.
What's great about it: Menu driven, intuitive, step by step instructions
What's not so great: Doesn't handle VA personal property tax clearly

Good old T-Tax Deluxe w/ One State return!

Been using T-Tax for ten years or so and over all, still the best software I have seen. A few annoyances like the reprinting of the Summary screen every time you finish an income or a deduction category and some v-e-e-er-y l-o-n-g periods where the program did not indicate whether it was busy or had locked up on me ( one time was close to five minutes). Makes a fellow nervous about whether to restart the program or wait it out.
Over all, the deed is done for 2012 and the comfort of knowing I have audit support is worth all. I needed some help with the good old IRS last year, and Tax Resources was very good.
I could not upload a picture, TT's size requirements were too large!!

What's great about it: Fast most of the time, easy to follow entry prompts.
What's not so great: Redundant screen reprints between entry catagories.
