Glitch with Federal Form 8615

Could not change parent's filing status from single to married when filling out Federal Form 8615. Because of this we decided to file our son's tax return by hand and are likely not to purchase turbo tax next year as a result of this glitch.

Reduced my liability

The detail review of deductions helps you account for everything plus by displaying the prior years deductions almost gaurantees you will not miss anything. I also like the pop up tutorials with an eplaination for each income and deduction category and if that does not answer your question, you have tax pros and the Turbo Tax universe to consult with. I have been using Turbo Tax for the past 10 and will continue to do so.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Kept asking for a state return which I did not have to file

This is the 7th year I have been using Turbo Tax. Obviously I have been satisfied. I love that information from prior returns is defaulted. Also I love that my brokerage info can be downloaded into the retun almost instantaneously.
What's great about it: Easy step by step instructions.

I have used Turbo Tax for several years now and I am a firm beliver in its accuracy and integrity.
What's great about it: Easy to use and very thorough
What's not so great: Had to get a separate account to download my JP Morgan data

The capture of information and retrieval from year to year is super handy. Having all of the needed forms is worth using this product alone.
What's great about it: For the most part, very easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: In correcting a couple of errors at the end, what was needed was not clear.

Tax Prep for Dummies and Grumpy Old Men

I'm retired now, so I don't keep up with the latest changes to Federal or State Income Tax Laws. But I know someone that does. The tax guys at Intuit do a heck of a job staying on top of this stuff, and they keep Turbo tax up to date as well. And, I am grateful for their work.
Turbo tax is one of the easiest software programs that I've used Most of it is intuitive, or so it seems and I am amazed the way it fills out the needed (an some unneeded) schedules for me. I am confident that when I submit my tax return to the IRS, that it is complete and accurate.
What's great about it: Step By Step Interview is Incredibly Easy
What's not so great: Untimely Updates are a Pain in the Butt
