2012 Turbo Tax Review

First time experience with this program, and it was both quick and easy. Our return was even slightly more than expected, and the program cost less than having a "professional" do it. Very pleased!

Been Using for Years

We have been using Turbo Tax to complete our taxes since 2006. We are comfortable with it's format and haven't looked at other tax programs since beginning in 2006. We have recommended it to some of our friends and they too felt good about using it.
What's great about it: Feel confident that my personal information can't be shared wtih other
What's not so great: Some of the explanations are a little confusing, too detailed or not detailed enough.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Third year (consecutive) that we've used TurboTax. It has saved our growing single-income family hundreds of extra dollars. Savings from TurboTax has supercharged springtime for our family. Beach trip & GF pizza on TurboTax savings= priceless family time!
What's great about it: step-by-step w/ fast answers to Questions
What's not so great: steps that didn't apply to our return took a little (too much) extra time

I like the ui, and the calculation and efilling is pretty convenient.

15 Years of Turbotax

After using turbotax for 15 years, it's familiarity makes it easy to file my taxes.
I would like to see TurboTax make it easier to switch between 'easy guide' and 'explore on my own.'
I would also like TurboTax to allow me to review a section without having to re-enter questions; typically I like to revisit a section, but that doesn't necessarily mean I need to make changes or update that particulary section.
What's great about it: Straight forward and familiar

Easy and quick

Have used Turbo Tax for several years and have also used it for my parents who are retired. Every year Turbo Tax gets easier to use and is adding more financial institues in order to download information
What's great about it: Walks you though deductions and wages
What's not so great: Sometimes not clear on what to enter on some of the forms

Downloading investment records from several companies was convenient. But the records downloaded and printed statements were not in the same order. It took some effort to make sure everything was there. Looked like it was. After all reviewing there are checks again and again. There was tax-exempt interest from national muni funds which could not be attributed to specific states. It went through several reviews before suggesting writing XX for multiple states. Filing electronically is convenient. We hope It is accepted by IRS.
What's great about it: Ease of downloading financial data from investments
What's not so great: Difficulty of communicating for explanations
Pros: I bought or sold investments
